Dalton from Alabama is LSU’s new chancellor

I didn’t expect that Chancellor announcement today. I knew it was rumored, but didn’t think it would happen same day as the President announcement

This is all happening FAST.

quote:

Wade Rousse has been selected by the LSU Board of Supervisors as the 29th LSU president, signaling a shift toward a corporate-oriented leadership after past presidents with lengthy academic backgrounds. James Dalton will serve as the system's vice president and chancellor. The pair replaces former LSU President William Tate IV, who left earlier this year for Rutgers University. The roles of president and chancellor were combined, but have now been separated by the Board of Supervisors.

The Chancellor announcement pleases me, tells me there is still a chance or at least we're trying.

Did people know they were going to announce them both same day? (Pres and Chancellor)

I guess I was expecting President today and Chancellor in the days following. I certainly didn’t expect them both to be announced on same day within 10 minutes.

We’ll see how they do, but at least we finally have some semblance of leadership beginning today

And I know most people I talk to say it’s great that they’re bringing back a chancellor model deficated to the BTR campus

If Nick Saban is coming out of retirement - which he probably is not - I find it incredibly hard if not impossible to believe it would be as AD anywhere.

Nick Saban has a net worth of $300-$500m. I seriously doubt he wants to work 60-80 hours a week for $2mil a year as AD and oversee softball and gymnastics and volleyball and soccer.

IF he’s coming out of retirement, it’s to make $100m in a short period coaching football one last time.
