Has he earned the right to treat people like shite? Because he does it pretty much in every press conference.

Nah, but I watch football for results, not human decency.

O v. Saban in a steel cage match...now I'd pay good money to see that shite.

If you're committed to excellence that's not a part time endeavor. You can't just turn it on and off like a switch.

Saban thinks you have to treat every opponent with a certain level of respect that you would give a worthy competitor. Every coach says that but few actually run their programs with that mindset. If you're trying to be special in that line of work that's the way you have to approach it.

Just like Belichick.

He's not paid to be humanitarian of the year. He's paid to win football games.

Saban will have someday have to answer for his sins just like the rest of us. He wrote a big fat check to pay for the Catholic Student Center at Bama so maybe he's got his bases covered or maybe...

Saban’s point is that you can’t just assume it’s gonna be a blowout. The players still need to prepare like they normally do. I can’t exactly disagree with that approach.

Saban’s point is to be a dick.

sometimes I think he does things like this just to see how far he can push it.

You're telling me if you were offered a trade of Saban for Orgeron right now, you wouldn't take it?

I would tell O I think he's a fantastic human and wish him well as the next head coach in Natchitoches or Thibodaux.

I think even Jacques Doucet would put a red carpet down for Saban in his parking space.

Unless, of course, Miss Terry tried to convince everyone that Neck needed to be "done right".

That would be a total dealbreaker. No amount of victories or national titles would be worth compromising STTDB.

As much as I respect Saban, he is little Hiltler with his staff & the press. There is a reason he cannot keep a staff together & he does not care. He is the head recruiter/closer when it comes to the big guns & he is good at closing

Asked about giving Tua a rest, “Why would I do that’s?”.

When assistants offer a maybe better way to do things,”Get a HC job and do that”.

Saban’s pitch, “Come to Bama & win championships”.

O’s pitch,”We want kids that want to earn a championship”.

I wish no ill will on an player, but if Tua goes down on a fluke tackle, would serve Saban right, the egotistical idiot.

I’ll take our guys attitude and approach any day - Geaux Tigers!

Such a contrast from Saban’s press conference with regard to playing other players in their cupcake game this weekend. Saban was about to jump down the podium and beat the crap out of the reporters for even suggesting such a thing.

This is why I dont think Dabo goes to Bama to take over when Saban leaves. He is 180 degrees opposite Saban and I dont think the fans would tolerate that.

Yet I know a lot of people who like Belichick but hate Saban, including myself. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact we’re LSU fans lol

He's a good coach but he went 7-6 his first year with a loss to ULM before he started knocking down the #1 recruiting class every year.

Except that, in this instance, Saban is wrong, and he knows he's talking bullshite.

Threads like this aggravate the snot out of me. Nothing against the OP, but that people care about Saban reactions in a press conference.

If Les/Ed would hire a competent OC who would unleash all the LA talent on Saban's.backside., then he would have to answer why his D just gave up 40+ points again and again.

Give Saban his due. He's recruited well and that's an understatement and they're having a great run. But man we make it too easy for them.

I think part of that is that Belichick is funny. Humor goes a long way.
