10years...Get the frick out

Posted on 12/1/17 at 2:59 pm to Methuselah
For sure.
He's proven to:
Recruit well
Develop QB
Rebuild program
It's funny because one year ago LSU fans were ready to empty the bank for him.
And 5 years ago LSU gave Les frickin Miles a 7 yr extension because ARK flirted with him.
that frickin bum

What is the deal? Has it been made public yet?

Yes
LSU arguably has been one position away from being Championship level.
QB.
Jimbo is among the best QB gurus out there.
Not to mention he is an elite recruite

His contract is fully guaranteed, it's a terrible deal for aTm imo

This time last year: Maybe
Now: Hell no
Now: Hell no

No.
He is an above average coach, but not worth $7.5MM for 10 years guaranteed.

You lock him in a contract that will be middle of the road in 3 years for top coaches.
As all coaching contracts go, the only side locked in is the university. If Fisher wins big, he'll want a new Sabanesque contract. If not, they're on the hook for whatever they originally signed him to.

No, not at that price. Tom Herman yes. Jimbo no.
We had Fisher at 6 in 2015, but FKA/Jindal had other ideas.
I'll say it here right now, Herman will win the Big 12 at Texas before Orgeron does the SEC at LSU. UT showed signs of life in year one of Herman trying to clean up that garbage pile that Strong left behind. Takes awhile to get the stink out.
Same thing with Jimbo at A&M. He'll win the SEC West before Orgeron does. A&M has been a "Sleeping Giant" and now that they have a competent coach, LSU fans are petrified that they'll become an "Alabama coached by Saban" under Fisher.
They sure as frick wont be a push over like under Rumblin Bumblin Fumblin Sumlin.
O and company will have to step it up immediately or they'll fall further behind in the West. Bama/Auburn aren't sitting still and now Aggie will be a factor.
If Orgeron is serious about winning the SEC West, he'll have to make a few "Improvements" to his Staff. This is a must. Simply can't evolve the program and "Keep up with the Jones's" with BBQ Buddies on the Staff that simply aren't that good at coaching their position athletes.
Watch for multiple Staff changes after the Bowl game. If they don't happen very soon after the Bowl, then it's a bad omen for the future.

No.
If the deal was 5 years I would say yes. $75 mil is dumb. I know he lost his QB but even with that he shouldn't be 5-6 as of today.

F no.
Jimbo has just verified that he doesn't care about winning and is all about the money. Not that I blame him, but dude could have been in contention for a national championship next year.
