i would love to see it torn down and a new stadium built in it's place like the new Cowboys stadium. It would be great for recruiting and just for recognition of having the best stadium in college football.

It would be pointless to tear it down and rebuild a whole stadium in its current location. In that case they would just do renovations.. not tear it down.

frickers go crazy when you talk about putting turf in the stadium instead of grass. What did you think this thread was going to be like?

First, I live in Dallas, and have been to the new stadium. Yeah, it's flashy with its huge screen and unique architecture, but it does nothing that a nastalgic place like Tiger Stadium does. The current facilities at TS are top of the line and combined with the history of the stadium, I think the recruiting is actually easier when you bring recruits into it.

Tradition (with some money) over shite tons of money any day.

I would like to see air conditioning in the bathrooms before I die.

That is all.

Then go live in Dallas and be a Cowboy fan. DON'T frick with Tiger Stadium, unless it is to clean it up, strengthen it and add on to it.

Someone said something about how TS isn't comparable to Yankees Stadium in history. Screw that.

The Story of Huey Long and TS is classic. TS is only 1 year younger than old YS, plus it is incomparable if your an LSu fan vs if your a Yankees fan. I couldn't care less where the bankees play ball. TS is real history.

Also an off campus stadium woudl suck + it owuld mean so many DUI's

I want to expand tiger stadium to 120,000. The largest stadium in the US. Why shouldn't we be the best. Better than Alabama. Better than Tennessee. We can be the largest stadium in the country.

I'm sick of this topic coming up once a month or so. You might as well tear down the White House while you're at it.

Well, they did essentially tear down the White House in 1949. Only the exterior bricks are the same; inside it was completely gutted and rebuilt.

Having said that, replace Tiger Stadium? Hell no!

I agree that replaceing TS would be insane. Too much history with Huey and the original construction. BUT concrete doesnt last forever. LSU just completed a 20 year campus master plan with no new TS. In 20yrs the original horeshoe will be about 100yrs old. Eventually something will have to be done. Maybe they should preseve a piece of land on campus before the is none left. What happens 50 yrs from now.
