re: If not For Saban......

Nobody hates Saban. He just tried to steal everything at LSU when he setup the Saban Dynasty at Alabama. He tried to steal the secretaries and the other personnel in the football program. You can't respect him for that
reason. Do the ends justify the means.

2010 schedule versus Alabama and Florida
Posted by Tigersense on 1/4/10 at 11:32 pm
For those who say LSU schedules the easy ones.
2010 LSU is playing UL Monroe and McNeese St for out of conference.
Alabama has San Jose State,Duke, and Georgia State. Florida has Miami of Ohio,USF, and Applachian State.
If you look this year Flordia is 13-1 and Alabama is undefeated. They had the same schedule plus a bye before they played LSU.

re: Alfred Blue commits per Scout

Alfred Blue looks great. I saw him play against Destrehan on TV. They gave him the ball about 10 times on the first drive. They ran him and threw to him. Destrehan could not stop him. He is going against 5A talent. You have to remember that Richard Murphy, Charles Scott, And Steven Ridley were recruited from levels below 5A.
They had not been tested against the higher classifications. I think Alfred Blue will be great. We need to get kids that Bleed Purple and Gold. LS is not from LA. He could care less about LSU. When Saban turned around the LSU program he did it with a core of great Louisiana players. Eight of Old Miss starters at the beginning of the year were from LA. The kick returner for Tulsa that destroyed the Tulane team in the superdome was from New Orleans.
We cannot afford to lose the great LA players and the potentially great LA players. We need to get the majority of them. I think that Alfred Blue is a great addition to our class as well as Franl Wilson who is a great LA recruiter. :geauxtigers:

What are you talking about to say that Alfred Blue is not an every down back. You didn't watch his last game. He carried the ball for the first
15 plays of the game. The guy can catch the ball and hit the hole inside and out. He gained over 200 yards against the team that has won the last 2 titles in 5 A. The guy is the real deal.

re: It is Unfair to Keep Reminding Us of Lee's Picks
Posted by Tigersense on 10/18/09 at 11:34 pm to Tiger_n_ATL
Lee threw interceptions in the LSU scrimages.
Lee does not like to get hit. Our offense line is not blocking. I think Lee will throw even more picks than last year if he gets into the game. Common Sense tells you that he will. It is not a quarterback problem but an offense line problem. I think they should roll Jefferson out and let the defenses become concerned with a run or pass situation.

re: Would you support the idea of a new Tiger Stadium
Posted by Tigersense on 10/2/09 at 12:03 am to heartbreakTiger
I want to expand tiger stadium to 120,000. The largest stadium in the US. Why shouldn't we be the best. Better than Alabama. Better than Tennessee. We can be the largest stadium in the country.

If we don't pay our coaches or build the facilities then we will have the same problem that we had during the Curley Hallman era.
Alabama is expanding their stadium and Texas just expanded their stadium.
We are going to have to gover 100,000 in tiger stadium to keep up with the other programs.
The universities donations and enrollment increase when LSU is winning championships. All of these are positive aspects for the university. Why do you think that Mark Emmert was so intent on changing the LSU football program?
What is Alabama,Tennessee,Georgia,USC,and others doing with their funds. What % are they giving to the academic side of the university.
You can ride the current wave of success into the ground and then we are looking at the athletic department trying to fund itself.
What does the university do if this happens.
If the university is dependent on 6 million dollars from the athletic program.
LSU is not funded by the state. I find it funny that a LA Lafayette fan can throw stones at LSU.
60% of LA Lafayette's athletic funding is coming from the state.
I personally don't want my money that I spend for athletics going to the university. I am giving additional money to the university. I give money to athletics so that I don't have to sit through 6 years of losing again.
The athletic department could give 50% of its income to academics. In 10 years, our athletic department would be at the bottom of the SEC and at the bottom of the national rankings.
Academics drives the ship. But, Athletics helps the ship go faster. Ask Southeastern that has readded a full slate of athletic programs.
If the university pulls more and more money from athletics then Mark Emmert's suggestion that we are living in the glory years will be correct.
