re: Cleaning boat fuel tank

Well this is the built-in gas tank....don't think it's removable.

That's why I'm looking at "flushing" it using an additive that breaks down any build-up.

Just don't have any experience doing it, but ole boy on youtube made it look pretty easy....just wondering if that's the case though.

I think he was being sarcastic. I know I was.

Cleaning boat fuel tank

How hard is this? Looking at a boat that needs to have the fuel tank cleaned of old gas and some residue.

Have seen some DIY videos where you just put in some additives like Star Tron and after letting it sit, you circulate the gas with a fuel pump and filters.

Thoughts or suggestions? Should I just have it done professionally?
I think the GTX 1060 will be sufficient for what I need, but I'm open.

Really just looking for that sweet spot between portability and power.
I don't need 4k, and I like that is has the GTX 1060. Looks like it has similar specs. from the CPU, memory, storage, etc.

So I've never had any experience with MSI products...how are they from a quality standpoint? The reason I've been looking at the HP workstations is because I'm using one right now, and it's still going strong after over 7 years with only a few modifications, and I'm wanting something that can be maintained/upgraded similarly.

Also, this may be a dumb question, but I'm guessing the rainbow keyboard is just showing that you can set it to a range of colors?

But the Oculus won't run on the M1000M even though it's a better card? Or is it really a better card?

Laptop Help - What am I missing here?

Posted by zbrous4 on 1/16/18 at 11:24 pm
Need some help here.

I'm picking out a new laptop for work, and I'm trying to find a balance between a lightweight portable machine and more of a mobile workstation. I work from home a decent amount, but I need the power to run Adobe Creative Suite, AutoDesk products, etc. I want a 15 inch screen (personal preference) and I need at least 500GB of storage because a lot of my work is on Dropbox (prefer at least part of that to be SSD).

The kicker is that our office just got an Oculus Rift (reviewing 3D architecture models), and if I get something with a decent graphics card, I could potentially use it on my machine instead of the communal one that is planned.

Anyway, I've been poking around on Newegg, and came across these two options:

Option 1 - HP ZBook Studio G3

Option 2 - HP Omen 15

Question: Based on the specs, it looks like the Omen is better choice (with an upgraded OS), but why is it so much less expensive? Am I missing something?

The best I can tell, and I'm no expert, is the OS, and the smaller SSD......there has to be something else, right?

Does anyone have experience with either of these?
Took a few minutes to edit the bracket so that it's not so f'ed up. Enjoy.

I have a couple of trees that I need to cut down, but I don't have anywhere to haul the debris. Anyone have a pile that would be willing to let me dump a couple of trees?

It's two bradford pears and a crape myrtle FWIW.
Zachary, go by Zach.

However, even a lot of my family misspell it as Zack most of the time....I have never understood where the "k" comes in.
When I moved this summer, I took my SL 5LNB SWM dish off my house to upgrade our tailgate setup. Took it out the first time and had no issue getting all satellites.

Ever since, I can not pick up the 99 satellite, no matter what I do. I have signals in the 90s on all other satellites, including 103ca and 103cb, but I am getting all 0s on 99. Once I got the 101 & 103 peaked, I have dithered to the max in both directions for elevation and azimuth but I dont even get a blip on the signal meter through the receiver.

What are the possible reasons for this? Bad LNB? Could it still be an alignment issue? Bad cabling?

Directv satellite alignment at tailgate

Posted by zbrous4 on 10/15/16 at 12:44 pm
So when I moved this year, I took my 5LNB SWM dish off my old house to upgrade our tailgate.

First time out, set it up and no issues getting it aligned...picked up all locals and HD. Last two times out, I dont get locals or some HD channels.....mainly ESPN.

I sat here this AM trying to fine tune the alignment, and I have more than 90% on 101, 110, and 119. I have more than 85% on 103. However, I am getting absolutely nothing on 99. When I dither on 99, my 103 ends up going out.

What should I troubleshoot? What am I doing wrong? Could it be equipment related?

FWIW, I ran a system test, and it says there is a dish alignment problem, vut I'm stumped at this point....

Any help is appreciated.
A tunnel is probably more likely than a bridge, but to counter, you could end the bridge between the road and the railroad tracks to avoid interactions with the railroad and transmission lines.

BTW, this intersection has also been proposed to have a roundabout, which somewhat complicates it more.

Dirt, yes. Clay, not so much.

This stuff is so sticky it's not even worth trying. Even shoveling it sucks because it sticks to your shovel and shoes making it heavy as hell

Where can i get rid of dirt in BR?

Posted by zbrous4 on 1/16/16 at 3:12 pm
I have about a yard of red clay leftover from a foundation project and I need to get rid of it somewhere.

Anyone know where in BR I may be able to take it? Or someone who wants it?
I stumbled across these guys at some point, and this video is pretty awesome. The setting of the concert has some to do with it, but these guys can belt it.

Just ran into him in the NOLA airport. Was sporting a TCU shirt so my guess is a recruiting trip....hence my thread location.

Not sure who he's visiting.

The canal is actually not connected to the lake at all. The lakes actually spill over into the canal. The average canal water level is significantly lower than the average lake level.

rather than use the dirt to cover the freakishly ugly Corporation canal

This was on the table at one point and supported by many, but there was an increased risk of flooding that tipped the scales in the other direction.

stack the lake sediment into shallow banks to make a marshy look (which will obscure views of the lake)

I'll pose my response as a math question:

Tom is 6' tall. The water level is 3' below where he is standing, and there are wetland plants that are 3' tall above the water. Can Tom see over the plants?
