It still really sucks that we lost to that mediocre UF team because of the shitty officiating.

Yeah that would be cool but it kind of sucks LSU isn't something like 21-4 and in the top 10 right now.

I agree. I think that is what we were expecting at the least for this season.

Yes to at least the 14-4 and number 1 seed in SEC part. Probably no to the 21-10 overall part. My expectations were 23 to 25 regular season wins, but I expected about 10-11 wins in non conference. When Hornsby got hurt I became worried. Victor has been better than I expected. Elbert, Aaron, and Darcy: I wasn't expecting much, but thought at least 2 of the 3 would improve a bit.

You know you get an automatic bid for winning conference right?
you get an automatic bid for winning your conference tournament, unless your conference doesn't have a tournament.

Yeah it really sucks that we didn't have our whole team ready to go at the beginning. We'd be looking at a top 15 team easily and be rolling towards the tournament. But oh well at least we are playing good ball now.

Who care's if you're the #1 seed in your conference and lose in the 1st round of the NCAA.
LSU has only won the SEC like 10 times in their history... I'd be ecstatic with a regular season conference championship.
Obviously I want to get out of the first round of the tournament, but one step at a time for me...

Yes I would. I don't think we're quite going to get there I think we'll finish 20-11, 13-5 and second, but I would consider first in the conference a success despite what I still consider a disappointing OOC, Hornsby and Victor noted.
Would love to see it go down to that last game in Lexington, would remind me of the 80 and 81 seasons when the last game of the regular season was against Kentucky and meant something.

absolutely!
And, I assure everyone that winning the regular season sec championship is a major goal this season for the team.
This team can surely play with anybody. They showed moxie bouncing back after the USCe loss and turned in a complete game v/s aTm. This team will be ready for the tournament. Hopefully, they can be RS SEC champs going into it.

This team can definitely play with anybody. Oklahoma proved that. Team looks incredibly focused after that game and has responded well.
the refs for the SCAR game were atrocious. Really hard to play our style on offense when there's 2 whistles a minute.

Certainly, an SEC title would be considered a regular season success for me. Post-Season is a different animal.
We won the 84-85 regular season title with a 13-5 record and a very talented team that included John Williams, Derrick Taylor, Don Redden, Ice Reynolds and Nikita Wilson.
And we lost in the first round to 13-seed Navy 78-55. Yes they had David Robinson, but still not business beating that talent-laden LSU squad and certainly not by 23 points. That was disappointing.

Exactly.
There can be multiple benchmarks for success. Winning the SEC is a hell of an accomplishment for this program given where we were 4-5 years ago.
Losing in the first round would be disappointing, but doesnt change the SEC championship accomplishment.

I honestly wished some people would just stick to football.

20-11 13-5 and make it to he Conference Championship [so 22-12 to the selection committee] and we'd probably be in the NCAA "play-in" game.

Are the people in this thread being serious or are our fans just this stupid? I try to avoid this shite fest for the most part so maybe I'm out of touch with how dumb the posters are.
I would settle for nothing less than an ACC championship.

I had written this team off. In my mind, there was about a 2% chance they were going to turn it around.
That was obviously your bad. Everyone melting when we were performing poorly with 2 starters out less than a year removed from being a tourney team that lost 2 studs to the NBA was looking at things from the wrong angle. Welcome back to the bandwagon though...we are going dancing!

Even with Simmons noone thought we would be 14-4 in the SEC before the year started so I would have to say yes.
