Quarterbacks should never requalify in high school. Few, if any are ready for that, physically or mentally

How and why the frick are we pretending like Michael Van Buren can be a starting QB at lsu?

My only guess would be that we tolerated Nuss’s mediocrity all year and just about anything else is an upgrade

Whether mediocre or not, it’s also because two Heisman Trophy winners so recently has us spoiled in a sense

I don’t think that expecting above average QB play makes us spoiled. How many other SEC teams would Nuss have started for?

I wasn't aware of any options short of the full Giloolly.

Didn’t say he would or wouldn’t
Just think it’s exacerbated by the fact of the recentcy bias of having the penultimate type of quarterback also

Next three games will say alot. Need to see after the bowl game how much progress he's made. I think you go after a Sellers but I don't see very many home runs out there. MVB is just a sophomore and has started 9 games. He's not supposed to be a really dominant, great QB yet. Show me a better true sophomore QB, there aint many if any.

It would be nice if he were a little more mobile.

Is this just a general statement or is this what you want from the QB position?

YOU said he couldn’t be a starter at LSU. I made the statement that he A) already is, and B) 5th year Heisman trophy winners are NOT indicative of LSU starting QBs.

Plenty of people didn’t thing Burrow or Daniels had what it took after their first seasons at LSU. Seems silly to write MVB off after a game and half.

None of that is to say I think he should be guaranteed the starting job next year, and the new coach certainly shouldn’t be scared to run him off by bringing in some transfers.

From last year going into this year? Almost all of them. Who in conference was so settled at QB that they would have passed up a 5th year senior who just threw for 4000 yards and 30 touchdowns?

Current MVB, no. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t improve and beat out whoever the new coach brings with him.

He's a terrible passer

He looked quite sharp at times. He started off rocky yesterday, but improved as the game progressed. The only time he went full Nussmeier yesterday was near the end of the first half when he tried to connect w/ Chris Hilton in the end zone and was very lucky to not have been picked off.

Let’s see what the young man does the next two weeks. Both teams are going to be a challenge for LSU.

I would rather that he continue in the role of an insurance policy.

LSU kinda reminds me of Clemson....they both got two once in a lifetime QB's in a short period of time...Clemson won two Nattys with Watson and Lawrence....LSU won 1 natty with Burrow and Brian Kelly blew the chance to win another with Daniels. I think LSU may be waiting for another once in a life time QB for quite awhile like Clemson is. Its easy to get spoiled.....
