Would we be where we are today if Russell Shepard was allowed to take snaps at QB?

I see Russell coming off or the bench to throw a forward pass as a cataclysmic event that would have altered the natural order of things such as Donald Trump being elected president over Hillary.

If he throws a pass, it could have potentially reversed tDecline, or, it could have sped up tDecline if he couldn’t throw well.

In any event, I don’t see us being 13-0 and #1 if Russell Shepard took snaps at QB. I’d think we’d still have Miles and be going 9-3 this year because Russell would have been a major program changer that kept Miles afloat just a little longer.

Russell Shepard would've won the Heisman and probably gone to the NFL to break Vick's rushing record.

Lamar Jackson would still be trying to break it.

FWIW I had a buddy who was a manager taking game and practice film.

Said Shepard couldn’t throw at all.

IIRC Russell had a little problem with accuracy and Les encouraged him to switch to WR.

The Russell Shepard position change was one of Les’ great calls. He’d be selling medical equipment right now instead of being a 6th year veteran of the NFL.

Y’all really overrate Shepard’s ability at QB

The dude was simply an athlete in HS playing QB, we told him he would play QB to get him to sign here but he was never going to be a D1 passer
