No

Bama gets no penalties called on them
Bama has the easy schedule
LSU has to play Florida every year
LSU doesn't get the penalty calls their way

The dynasty was only beginning, Saban left, then Les came in ruined 05, 06, and 2 lossed 07. If Saban stays, we might go back to back in 06 and 07.

Might have won one more than miles. But not what he has done at bama. Bama is the top program
But do benefit from a very favorable sec schedule. They have drawn the kentucky and missou and vandys while lsu has to play Florida Georgia and usce.

Like I said he is a great coach but gets certain advantages for being at bama. Not flaming on bama they are one of the most historic programs it history and the sec. And that comes with advantages.

Still hate the humps but it is a fact

Without a doubt he would have. Without Saban at Bama do you think Bama is who they are today? I don't think so, look at who Bama was while Saban was at LSU. Who has been the team to keep us from winning Bama. Without a doubt we would be a dynasty. Saban locked up the talent in Louisiana and pulled from other states. We would have another 2 Crystal balls with Saban at the helm.

because

he become a better coach?

yes he did. if you watched saban at LSU and now, he is a better coach.

but also

Is it easier to succeed at Alabama?

yes

edit: i think some might find it hard to believe that saban is a better coach but it makes sense. players go through primes and OTJ training and such. experience makes them better. its the same for coaching. just like i think coaches can regress a bit.

This. It's pretty obvious he's fast becoming the best college coach of all time. This run is in the era of scholarship limits.

LSU Saban was 48-16.
Unicorn Saban would be 105-1 at LSU from 2005-2012.
That's just the hard science.
Ironically, His lone loss would have been to Les Miles of OSU in the 2011 BCSNCG.
Of course with 7 other crystal balls on top of the 2003 one, we would mostly have forgiven him for that awful loss.
Cheers to Almighty Unicorn Saban, and may he live on in our imaginations forever !

He would have to recruit or coach against a good Bama team.

Hard to say, LSU doesn't have the boosters that Alabama has and the football money has the say in the money it brings in to the program.

The facilities Alabama has and currently building is second to none.

im say he could have possibly done it here but he is clearly a better coach now than before. the stint in the nfl helped him alot.

Any team he returned to would be running out 3 of 4 titles

A better question would be: would Saban have LSU set-up to get the same benefit of the doubt that he has at Bama? He has only gone undefeated once at Bama, but everytime he has had a loss, the entire media agreed without question that Bama was the best 1 loss team.

Yes. Alabama has no inherent advantages over LSU. None.

Sadly YES. He's the best of the best and has proven it everywhere he has coached in college football. Helps to have great coaches around him along with great players and just a tad (written w sarcasm) luck. No way Ala. should have played LSU again in 2011 season and no way Ala. should have played in BCS championship this year. A lot of weird EOY crap had to happen for 'Bama to even get to the title game. However, once they got there they dominated. That is quality coaching at its finest from my perspective.

You do realize that Saban was here roughly the same amount of time he has been at Bama and 4/5 years lost at least 3 games right?

2005 - Katrina ruined everything. If we don't have to play 13 straight weeks we may have gone to the NC. Saying Miles ruined a year like that is just plain stupid.

2006 - There was no way we were gong to beat the refs in AU that year. There were way too many obvious bad calls against LSU, you could've hada combination of every god CFB coach to ever walk the earth and LSU was going to lose that game. THe other loss was to the team that won the NC and was really good. Coaching didn't lose either game that year. If anything dumb plays by our QB did. JR was notorious for doing stupid shite in games.

2007 - complaining about our NC year......enough said.

Yes, he was building a monster program, which was handed to Mile$ on a silver platter.

Yes, talented professionals tend to do this - they get better with experience.

Yes, but the gap between LSU's potential and Alabama's history wasn't (and isn't) insurmountable.
