05 - Katrina and USC vs TX. Saban would still not be respected by the media at LSU, especially after the 2004 season. MORON

06 - Saban, like Miles, could not win fixed games. You morons forget that Saban's teams here were penalized just as much as Miles. He goes to Bama, and voila! Have you forgotten about the game in 2004 at Auburn where Saban, in his own Godly way, stated we were screwed?

You people are amazing.

There was no way we were gong to beat the refs in AU that year. There were way too many obvious bad calls against LSU, you could've hada combination of every god CFB coach to ever walk the earth and LSU was going to lose that game. THe other loss was to the team that won the NC and was really good. Coaching didn't lose either game that year. If anything dumb plays by our QB did. JR was notorious for doing stupid shite in games.

If LSU wasn't coached scared against au they run that inferior team off the damn field.

2006 saban wins the ncg. Not a doubt in my mind.

That's not true. He continually says the biggest mistake he made was leaving LSU. Always says that when asked about LSU. He was well on his way to establishing LSU as the dominant power in college football after the 2003 NC until the idiot Miami owner threw cash at him. LSU would have been just what Bama is now if he had stood there, no doubt about it. Alabama knew what kind of coach he was looking closely at what he did at LSU and jumped all over him the moment he floundered in the NFL.

Good grief. what rock do you live under?
I want you to cite me quote where Saban said that
quote:

biggest mistake he made was leaving LSU.

He NEVER planned to stay at LSU. He did the "will he or won't he?" dance with the Bears and Giants before the Dolphins finally gave him the $$$$ and control he demanded. He played LSU for a fool practically every year he was here.

You need to get your facts straight, sparky. LSU was never more than a stepping stone to Saban.

Yes he would have made LSU a dynasty. No, he did not become a better coach as he was already a great coach. Yes, it is easier to succeed at Alabama.

I think the Dolphin experience made him better. More introspective and willing to adapt. Hope he goes back to the NFL!

LOL. But according to LSU fans no season is a success unless we win the bcs title. So he still had one successful season at LSU and Jumped on the first train out of here. He was either going to do good things at LSU and go to the NFL or he was going to suck and get fired. Those were the only two possible outcomes.

He made Michigan State, a basketball school, relevant. They beat the best Ohio state team of the 90's (98) @ Columbus.

He would have won at least one more title at LSU.

I think he would've won one more, but I'm not sure about a dynasty. Towards the end of the 2004 season it looked like he was completely burnt out and disinterested. The gameplan for the Capital One bowl was atrocious. He needed a break, and obviously he could not have gotten one without leaving and going to a brand new team.

His record at LSU was pretty mediocre compared to his time at Bama. One double digit win season.

Failing in the NFL did make him a better coach. It was the first time in his life where he failed miserably. He learned a lot about himself from that failure.

This is true. The main reason being, all Bama cares about is football. LSU actually cares about other sports and the state of Louisiana has other events year round that occupies our time. Bama throws the most money at the sport, and the fans are completely obsessed with the team, to the point that their general happiness in life is determined by how the team performs year-in and year-out.

Plus, have you been to Tuscaloosa? There aren't too many distractions in that town.

LSU probably could have won one or two more national championships with Saban as he was. But, I believe he's a better coach after leaving the Miami Dolphins.

Yea, this is just weak. The whole "the refs at AU stole the game from us is pretty pitiful" The refs have no bearing if you do your job and we didn't!

In 5 years he only had 1 season with less than 3 losses, 2003.

Saban saw he, at LSU, could not beat Bama year after year, with all the ref's pulling for Bama.

where do all the ref's come from.....

a hint...it starts with a "T"

So saban leaving the program and not recruiting worth a dam had nothing to do with 05. If yall think the dynasty was starting, then Miles didnt cost LSU multiple bcs titles, it was saban for walking out on you.

Also yall seem to forget that if LSU wasnt in the 07 bcs title, another 2 loss team would have been.

But i guess its miles fault for not winning in 2002 and 2004.

Also miles fault for bama not winning in 2007, 2008 and 2010. I mean it had to be, nick saban has no flaws and makes no bad decisions.

In 2004 Saban was a lame-duck coach who had already made up his mind that he was leaving for the NFL. As for the Capital One bowl game, he had already been hired by Miami. It's difficult to gameplan when you're worrying about the details of your NFL contract. That game meant NOTHING to him in the grand scheme of things.
