Cmon. We get the UGA/Bama vs ___ every year. Skenes would be Oakland's ace right now and Crews would start. My thinking here is Skenes would have to hose them down completely, but that doesn't seem impossible?
this team has maybe at most 5 guys who are going to reach the bigs? And you think they can play against a team of 24 guys who are already in the Bigs? LSU would get the dog crap beat out of them.

That seems high considering there are currently only eight former Tigers in the majors.

The difference in skill level between a college team and a pro team is absurd.

Moreso in baseball than in any other sport.

To be fair, we have the best pitcher on the field, which is pretty important. Not all are created equal here. Obviously the only shot we would have is if Skenes dominated them.

against college competition. Skeenes could be a complete flop when goes to the pros. You have no idea of knowing he’s still this good playing against pro players.

Over a season of 60 games, as a team LSU would be competitive against Rookie League/Short Season Teams. Would be less than .500 against Low A teams and would get beat regularly by High A teams. Double A and Triple A would be slaughters.

You're definitely right about this. I don't claim to be any sort of baseball savant, but I watch MLB pretty regularly and Skenes looks like he can be a #1 on an MLB staff right now. I don't think I've ever been more impressed with a college athlete in my life. Including Burrow

Skenes may look strong the first time through the lineup against real pros, maybe, assuming they’ve not seen film on him, after that they’d be like a pod of orcas tearing the rudder off his boat, as a team we would be cellar dwellers in the instructional leagues, there’s a huge talent gap between college and pro

0-0 Tie (after 9) possibly is the only thing to hope for but prolly not.

We absolutely could take a game from them. A whole series is unlikely but on a one game scenario absolutely we could beat them

I’d bet we could win and compete against single A teams. I agreed with everything you said till that. A ball is most likely filled with recent former SEC players. The gap from A ball to MLB is likely massive. Single A is probably closer to the SEC.

I don’t know about that. With Skenes on the mound and our bats as hot as they were last night, if you gave me good odds I may take the Tigers.

that was my fault of wording what I meant was 5 guys who actually have a shot of being called up not being everyday players on rosters.
