No issues at LSU? Mite wanna ask CPM about that. He bailed on LSU / CPM with basically no notice & from many accounts, CPM told him to never try & come back. But what really speaks volumes about him is that it was his own State players who told the AD...Cohen???....what was going on. And the coach who was hired to replace him....sorry, old fart here with poor memory re names...said that he had never seen such a poor fundamentally coached team. Said he basically had to start over coaching the players in fundamentals & routine baseball. But that his own players wanted him out, that should tell any coach what he needs to know re a possible hire.

its been a while, but there was a stretch where he and his wife were walking daily in our neighborhood. probably been close to a year since i've seen them. and i'd always see him, brother and dad at franco's. haven't seen any of them there in a either.

Grew up with the guy and he coaches with some friends of mine. He has had opportunities since his call from grace. I would be ecstatic if he came to LSU again

It's so crazy. Dude can obviously recruit and coach offense. He's basically responsible for 2017 lsu and 2021 miss state. Unbelievable where he's put himself.

Cannizzaro is the reason we made it in 17 and the reason Ms State was primed to win their title.

Bolded years are Andy C. The dude was the only coach we had IMHO that coached offensive baseball. Not just be a good hitter, but truly offensive baseball

He is the farthest thing from a ladies man as I can imagine after being around him somewhat frequently

We could steal more (and probably should have when possible this year) but Jay recruits guys to get on first, not get thrown out at second.
This year we only had 1 or 2 guys in the every day lineup that you'd want to put in motion. Milam and whoever is playing center field. Pearson can run a little, but he's a better base runner than he is base stealer. This year was really an anomolly. You had multiple power bats with little to no base stealing ability (Jones, Travinski, White), some high contact guys with average at best speed (Braswell, Larson) then low contact guys with speed (Brown, Pearson, Kling, Bingham).
The only high average + speed combo was Milam, and he's not a real burner.
Next year we won't have the same lumbering power bats in the lineup so you'll probably see more action on the base paths. Hopefully someone like Curiel steps into that high contact + high speed role and can pressure defenses.
