Hurricane Gustav already came thru and pruned all the dead trees . I'm not anticipating much damage from this one.

UNT has a brand-new but too-small-by-SEC-standards stadium: LINK

Selfishly, I'd vote to play at Cotton Bowl Stadium (Dallas), not to be confused with the Cotton Bowl site (JerryWorld), which as we know will be crawling with Bammers on Saturday.

Jerry likes Les, so maybe he'd offer a discount to move the game to Sunday or Monday in the big spaceship.

AS for North Texas stadium, uh...30,000 seats?? Really?

UNT has ~35k students, but many of which are non traditional students or live at home. There isn't very much school pride. When I taught labs, about as many of my students wore UT/TAMU/OU gear as UNT apparel.
Hence not needing a very large stadium for an underwhelming fan base.

i was reading the north texas message board on this topic and i found some of the post made me laugh

here are some:
quote:

LSU fans must be having a good laugh at out thinking the game might get moved to Denton...well...if they knew how to read, that is

quote:

If the game is cancelled, then we should get the forfeit win right?

quote:

Direct from the KRAM Weather channel...the game will be played in Baton Rouge on Saturday as scheduled. What hurricane???? These SEC folks drum up every excuse they can for not playing UNT and the Mean green. The tigers are scared of the Mean Green...that's why they create these weather issues every time....BELIEVE IT!

quote:

I'm hoping that due to the LSU legal counsel's lack of common english skills and general intelligence, that a clause in the game contract specifying that Hurricanes are an acceptable cause for non-payment was not included, and therefore when "the swamp" becomes a literal swamp and the game cannot occur, that LSU can simply write their check, and we move on with an 11-game season, no serious injuries, and our first season opener at home in over a decade.

Isaac isnt Katrina. It'll be cleared up by Friday

Gustav hit on a Monday and postponed the next Saturday's game and almost forced LSU to move the location of the game after that (almost 2 weeks after landfall).

Chicken, I've been through 5 REAL hurricanes. This is nothing. It's rain. Rain is good.
