I think it’s obvious he couldn’t care less about either. The ASU players appear to have had a point.

It's too late baby, it's too late though he really did try to make it. Or did he and momma?

I believe that it’s okay for people to make mistakes if they have the maturity to step up and admit they were wrong. Like I said previously, this isn’t something that’s so bad that he can’t ’bounce back’ from it

To me, it would depend on how he said it and what he said, I guess.

You know as well as I do it's going to be written by someone else and he's just going to read out loud in front of a mic.

Fun strawman you have there, framing it that way

What

If there’s another way to interpret you saying 18 year old kids will hold being mean to Jayden against LSU I’m all ears.

It would be very simply.

"Hey, this all went way too far. I let my representation handle something I should have handled personally. I don't think this accurately reflects how I feel about my time at LSU or vice versa. Look forward to moving past this and getting this season underway. Geaux Tigers!".

Now all of those things have to be true and this is an NFL QB ego we are talking about.

I'd let it slide if he apologized publicly and wished Pickett luck for the season. His brain isn't fully developed yet and he's also taken a few big shots to the head in his career so i'm good extending a little grace.

I wish him a successful career and a happy life, but no. He didn’t just run his mouth. He took legal action. The only reason he’d want to apologize is because it’s blowing up against him.

He just needs to tell the truth, that his mother did it without his approval and that he respects the decision and will bide his time. Once he turns 70 and the chances of him doing something terrible has passed he will get inducted.

If I were him, I’d wear a different number to practice, then make a joke at his own expense when asked about it. Follow that up with an apology and hope for the best.

"Dude won a Heisman for them, and then even after he fired his mom and apologized for all the drama, LSU fans still shite on him. You really want to go play somewhere people will turn on you and publicly disrespect you forever like that?"

But sure, I can't imagine there's a single kid in the country who might be influenced by something like that. Utterly impossible.

You snuck in and fired his mom to give your argument more credibility. Don’t think I didn’t notice

LSU can easily handle such a ridiculous hypothetical. With a single phone call to any number of former players.

Snuck in? Did you even read the OP? That's the entire context for this fricking thread. Here, I'll help

quote:

Highly unlikely, but let’s just pretend he fires his mother this week and apologizes publicly to LSU and the fans for his stupidity.

Would it change the general opinion of him, or are LSU fans permanently done with this clown?

ETA: And I just realized that it was in my post you replied to

quote:

This is petty and 18 year old children looking to come play for us would hold it against us.

If he fires his mom and gives a full, unmitigated apology, we should fully embrace him for it.

Not going to happen, but this is purely hypothetical.

I’ll always be a fan of Jayden’s and appreciate all he did for LSU.

He and his “team” are on the wrong side, to be sure, but he’s not “dead to me” and I forgive him for his stupidity

I haven't paid attention since the initial kerfuffle. Has he doubled-down on it, or has he backed off some?

Either way, he was fun to watch on the team, but after this I can tell he has no love for the school, so why should I have love for him, apology or no apology.
