LSU was down 3 and had no timeouts. Stevan Ridley was stopped inbounds with 20-something seconds left. Refs said he got out and they stopped the clock. LSU kicked the FG to tie and eventually won in OT.

yes I remember that - he definitely did not get out of bounds, would have been another Les clock management debacle had that not been ruled.

That was an absolutely incredible play. While I believe the call was correct, I'm still kinda surprised the home office in Birmingham didn't rule against us.

always wondered what the call would be here. There ref clearly singled TD so effectively the ball is dead

A very recent one that had little consequence was a diving catch that Jake brown “made” this past baseball season. He caught it, rolled over and the ball snow coned out. They said it was a catch but by the rules, he never made an attempt to remove it to throw before it popped out.

Yeah I was going to say… South Carolina kept the ball but went 3 and out.

All's fair in love, and LSU vs Alabama football. There has been a lot of shenanigans on both sides during that rivalry.

South Carolina intercepted Nuss, and in the return Nuss gets decleated- Gamecocks get penalized and we get the Ball back. At best should’ve been 15 yds from hit and South Carolina 1st down.

SC could’ve easily been flagged on their punt block TD for the defender launching himself into and over the LSU blockers

Jared Mitchel diving catch in CWS was clearly on the ground.

The Arizona State game-winning catch for sure. That was incomplete as hell

I’m pretty sure SC retained the ball as it was a post-possession penalty. They were just ticked they got robbed of a pick six because the penalty wasn’t even relevant to the play.
In reality it was a good call and their anger should be directed at their own player.

My brother was living in Alabama at the time and had a bet. The Alabama fan would not pay off the bet because we cheated.

It would have led to an offsetting penalty and redo (instead of a defensive penalty and redo), but I could have sworn T-Bob threw his helmet after the "last" Tennessee play.

Supposedly, it would’ve been illegal forward pass. It would’ve been a 5 yard penalty from where he threw the ball.

Would have been absolutely crushing to have them call that TD back and see our offense on the field again.

Doucet lost the ball going to the ground. Clearly incomplete.

I think in 2008 or 2007 Richard Murphy bounced on the ground for a first down.

Corey's INT vs Bama in 2004 was very bad.

If I'm remembering correctly, I feel we got a few generous spots during the game winning drive vs Florida in '07.

This.

LSU didn't get the ball back. The penalty just took the TD off the board. A TD that given the score (33-29 SC) and time 6:57 in the 4Q could have effectively ended the game for SC.

It was a good call by the rule, and an unnecessary play by the SC defender

Coastal Carolina coaches thrown out in the first inning of the National Championship game. They deserved it, but still...
