The Wade Brigade will never admit that. He fired their golden boy. He will forever be dirt to them.

While I’m glad we upset Kentucky, how about we make the tournament once before making a victory lap?

Sports where our new coaches either won a natty or played for a conference championship? Yes, we can victory lap for those

The number of fans here who didn’t/don’t understand where the program was when McMahon showed up is staggering.

The goalposts keep moving. If before this 5 game stretch, you were told that LSU would beat SCAR on the road and UK at home, people would have been ecstatic.

Well yes but this is still a highly inconsistent team. What good is the UK and USCe wins with mind boggling losses like Nicholls?

Nobody’s saying don’t be excited for the upsets. But asking a McMahon-led LSU team to make the tournament isn’t much of an ask before running around screaming “Told you he’s a good coach!” in people’s faces.

Hell, it’d be the most LSU basketball thing ever to lose to shitass Vandy, Arkansas or Missouri after these last 2 wins.

It’s pretty obvious I mean including Matt McMahon in the “great hire” category. Why is everyone here acting like that’s not what I meant?

Need to swap out your magnifying glass for a telescope bro. Context is a beautiful thing. If you want to complain about missing the tournament next year, that would be fine.

If we wind up even being in the conversation for a bubble team, this will be seen as a big step forward for the program.

You mean how he had literally zero players on the roster?

While we do have lots of good coaches here, last night doesn’t really shift the balance to anointing McM a good coach yet lol

Woodward’s been outstanding here. I remember pirate king saying he failed the football coaching search and he’d have to settle for mark stoops

Are they inconsistent though? They seem to be pretty consistent the last month or so in that they've been in every game, right up until the end, against some good teams. They fall behind, but fight back and never seem to give up. They seem well coached, and have improved from the beginning of the season, but I'm no expert.

But but but but you can rebuild immediately with the transfer portal!!!!!

That is what the knuckle-draggers believe applies to EVERY situation.

Problem is, LSU is not Duke, UCLA, Kentucky or UNC in men's basketball. There was not a line of 5-stars waiting to sign here. It is a miracle that he has the talent he has this year. If they can just have some success--like at least make post-season--then I think the talent will start having a reason to come here.

Because this thread was never about Woodward. It’s about one win last night pointing to our unproven basketball coach all of a sudden being the next John Wooden. Don’t feign ignorance.
