Not really. The defense is nice though. TAM will lose several more games this year.

Keep sticking your head in the sand while Jimbo is kicking your boy O’s arse in recruiting players in Louisiana.

If you're worried about money, P5 sports isn't for you. That's the cost of competing at an elite level.

I think you need to talk to TAM fans bro. He left FSU a dumpster fire.

Also, you make up stuff.... TAM has only 1 player in the top 20 of Louisiana recruits since 2018 if we go by 247. Edgerrin Cooper.

So... out of 80 players only 1 selected TAM. This year (2022 class) Ed had most of the top 15 wrapped up.

I do. I live and work around them. They’re happy with him and just extended the “overpriced” contract SW game him. They have the money, so who cares?

A successful football program brings in a ton of money for the entire athletic department. It also attracts more students from out of state, which can in turn fuel the success of the entire university.

No they are not, they were happy for the win last week and that gave the fans a breather.

The penny-pinching, budget athletic department gave us 7 losing seasons in the 90s. Emmert was intelligent enough to spend money to get Saban, and spend the money to upgrade everything around the program. We have fans that don’t want to spend like Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, etc, but then get made when we don’t have the same success as those schools.

Paid Ed the ENTIRE 17 million on buyout (This must be a record buyout?)

Right, where is the Morals Clause in Ed's contract that he can be terminated for conduct detrimental to the university?

At the least, this would give Woody flexibility to buy down the buyout based on bad behavior.

He has to be a fiduciary to prudently manage the money to the benefit of the school athletic department.

An argument can be made that the rise of LSU football started when we finally made the decision - institutionally - to spend the money to compete at the highest level, whatever the cost. That started with Emmert and Saban.

One definitely can’t argue these days that we don’t spend the money to compete. We’re all in on spending whatever amount of money is necessary. In that sense, it’s a good thing I guess.

We definitely don’t pinch pennies anymore.

Does not matter to SEC fans...or LSU fans. Every expenditure, every shortcut every paranoid ranting or action is justified in the race for a championship....eat 25 million minimum....ehhh no big deal, there are a bunch of jock sniffing 50 to 70 year old men with deep pockets willing to fork over that kind of money every 4-5 years just so they can measure their dicks at cocktail parties. Plus operations like TAF figure they can pass on the cost to the average fan through PSL costs that will undoubtedly rise....and they succeed at it because the fan base living vicariously through 18-22 year old men mostly will gain some sort of satisfaction to make up for their decreasing levels of testosterone.

Not saying O did not need to go, but let's be realistic about ourselves as a fan base. SEc fans will fire championship coaches if they have a rough patch after winning a championship. We will throw objects on the field if we don't get our way and act totally classless....and please don't think that only happens in Knoxville. Sometimes we even kill each other over these games .

it doesn't affect him, but it could affect the program.
Just taking A&M as an example and let's say he was still there, how willing would have their boosters been for another huge contract had jimbo not worked out?
The big money moves have to wprk out, so that next time it's easy to convince the money people

Since LSU agreed to pay O then someone wrote a check. LSU athletics is not poor. I promise you, my friends, money was spent to clear the way for a glorious future.
