People seem to think that coaches with championships are cheap.

shite, people flat out ignored everyone else’s buyout in the top 10.

Ed’s isn’t insane and it’s pretty low for a NC winning HC.

How do you know there weren't directives from the check writers at said universities that made cost irrelevant? How do you know he wasn't told money wasn't an issue?

We are going to get a "woke" hire and this board will melt which will be justified.

How is this relevant to evaluating an AD’s job performance?

It’s as relevant as bitching about firing an underachieving coach.

JBE wanted Mulkey I bet since they are Tangi buddies. Woodward had to pay her what it took to get her.

Jimbo was a stupid decision as it appears today.

We will see about Johnson. He seems to be a good hire.

5. Paid Ed the ENTIRE 17 million on buyout (This must be a record buyout?)

O’s buyout is remarkably low compared to other top 10 paid coaches.

And he got TAF's approval for every single one. Your point?

Did you care to read the buyout? - he gets $5m in December of this year (which he was already owed) and then it’s structured for $2m in 22’ and then on down @ a million or less the next few years. — I think pretty much every AD with a high dollar coach they want to get rid of is envious of that buyout. — those figures aren’t even a blink on a line item for the Athletic Department.

Plus the school retains his likeliness through 2025, so any revenue they can generate from appearances or sales chips away @ all those expenses.

You’re blind if you can’t see Fisher has that program headed in the right direction. Every fan base has unreasonable fans.
haven't seen it yet. Kevin Sumlin taught me that even with the best talent, if you aren't a great coach yourself, it doesn't matter. Sumlin was carried his whole HC career by two outstanding Leach protégés and his TAMU tenure was carried by that and Manziel. TAMU is not good. They went 9-1 in a covid year because they played defense, had a run game, had a QB who started four years, and the conference was loaded with underperforming horrible teams. When you have to wait on your QB to become exceptional as a senior, you're not going to be elite.

TAMU has a couple of great guys on defense right now, but not an elite defense. They have a couple good RBs and a nice TE, but not a good offense. That QB that showed out randomly at Bama and had retards thinking, "Jimbo finally coached him up", looked like crap the very next game vs open faucet defense Mizzu. It is HIGHLY likely they lose 2 more games as they are on the road vs LSU and Ole Miss, and Auburn is a toss up game at home.

Fisher is Jim Harbaugh. Only difference is that Harbaugh's generational QB happened at Stanford and not Michigan, so he didn't have the chance to make the playoffs. I think Jimbo can coach Haynes King into a star, but it will take 2 or more years to see the results.

That's why I always tell people, programs like TAMU and Texas having more money doesn't mean jack shite. You need to have almost free reign to use the money, and know exactly HOW to use the money.

You are an idiot. His Athletic departments do not lose money on these contracts due to these hires because he gets the funding from the boosters/donors.

Also Texas A&M just extended Jimbo, the aggies love him as their coach and have rewarded him with extra years to stay there. So your point about an excessive contract is irrelevant if their program and university believe is money well spent.

Theres a reason he can convince top flight coaches to take the jobs, he pays you what you're worth if not more.

As any manager would they do not try to save money on Overhead or Staff.

I never liked the O hire, but after 2019 you had to give him a raise. He just wont the National Championship whether he was the best coach or not does not matter, that year he led the program to the Championship and had to get a pay raise. If he did not give him a raise after winning the Championship that would be a worse look.
