what is the other swing and a miss that "cost LSU a decade"? And while we talk about his purported swings and misses, can we talk about the two hires he's made who have already won national titles?
Kelly isn't even under contract for another decade, and he did kind win the divisions last year.

High Freeze is maybe the most overrated coach ever.
Three 10-win seasons in 13 years coaching.

Freeze does the opposite of Kelly. He gets his team up for big games like Georgia but then sharts the bed against bad competition. There’s no perfect candidate out there. On paper Kelly was as good as we were going to get. He had some low points at Notre Dame too, like the 2016 season where they had a historically bad defense and went 4-8. But after that he made adjustments and won 10 games minimum a year. Give him time. He is a proven winner but sometimes success and winning is not linear. One step forward (last year), two steps back this year.

People love to forget he went 5-7 in 2016 with Chad Kelly, Van Jefferson, Demarkus Lodge, and Evan Engram. Freeze had one really good season at Ole Miss...in 2015 where they still managed to lose 3 games, including games to Memphis and an 8-5 Arkansas team (in spectacular fashion)
