Can he sue Texas? How does that work?
I think there was a clause in his contract that he could be terminated with cause simply by being charged with a felony.

The real question is can Scotty sell him on an opportunity to repair his image at a dirt cheap program? He’s not going to spend money on facilities, upgrades
I’m surprised to hear you say this, because Scott Woodward said that he plans to drop a bunch of money on Basketball.

If you think McMahon is getting fired this year (or really any season in the near future), I would point you to the way his contract is structured. Your boy ain't being moved any time soon. So get over it.
LSU isn't paying $14,600,000 to buy him out after one season.
And he shouldn’t be. People need to get a grip. This is year one of an entire rebuild. Let’s see what he does the next two years. If you don’t have the patience for that, then tough shite.

Man this is a dumb contact
But he at minimum gets till year 3. If LSU is still circling the drain like right now then, I think they will eventually have no choice.

Have you watched a single game this season? His coaching has been atrocious!

Gets his revenge on Texas yearly and can easily rebuild LSU and be competitive right away

Can someone introduce Randi Trew, Beard's fiancée, to McMahon.
Five minutes alone with her should do the trick.

What makes you think Chris Beard would take the LSU job?
LSU has resources. Just like Ohio St and Florida in the early/mid 2000’s, there is ZERO reason LSU couldn’t be a powerhouse with the right HC.
LSU has recently made huge commitments to football, baseball and Women’s basketball. There is a lot of hate for Woodward in LSU basketball circles (some it it well deserved). But I don’t believe the AD is willing to to commit to those other sports but not MBB.
On paper in March McMahon was arguably one of the better hires made. That hasn’t turned out to be the case in reality. Beard wasn’t an option for LSU in March. He is now!

What makes you think Brian Kelly would leave Notre Dame while they’re in the playoffs to go to dumpster fire cultural disaster LSU after 2 consecutive .500 seasons under Ed Orgeron?

$10 MM and chance to win a Natty.

There are no complete rebuilds in college basketball anymore. Not with the portal. He did a great job scrambling to put together a decent roster, but his performance this season is well below the talent level on this team.
And the current recruiting class we have for next year suggests that unless he hits the portal real hard, next year is likely to be even worse.

I’m under no delusion that it is. But to not consider it as an AD would be foolish. He had a massive 1 year turnaround at UALR. From 13-18 to 30-5 with a win over Purdue in the NCAAT.
I’m his second season at Texas Tech he had them in the Elite Eight for the first time in school history. In his third season he had them a possession away from a National Championship.
In his second year at Texas he had a true championship contending team.
He is as close to a “sure thing” for tremendous success available right now. So why on earth would you not consider it if your program is on pace for one of, possibly the worst season in school history, under a HC showing zero signs of ever being a championship level coach?

This could be the most pathetic line of thinking I’ve ever seen on the board. All one has to do is look at the other occupant of the PMAC to see how drastic and quickly a “rebuild” can occur. 2 years ago WBB was going nowhere. LSU hires a big time coach with bona fides and in year two that coach has the program ranked in the top 5 and a legitimate Final Four contender. YEAR TWO!
In football LSU fired a national COY just two years after putting together one of the greatest seasons in college football history because his results were dog shite and the program was going nowhere. LSU then hires a bonafide coach. In year one he wins the West. He will enter year two as a top 10 team.
You have that same opportunity right here in front of you in men’s basketball and you think it’s more reasonable to keep a HC with ZERO history of major conference success because….?

LSU is trying to repair its image . Chris beard doesn’t do anything to aid in that

If Woody is half the AD people on here swear he is. He should be able to do this with is eyes closed. Other people’s wallets open of course
