With Brooks gone will they "unofficially retire" number 9?

Although there are a ton of hoops to jump through to officially retire a number, they can stop issuing immediately.

I think you pull a saints and if someone comes in and asks for it they say we’re out, sorry pick again. And then formally retire it down the road.

Honestly I think it’s A solid number to retire.

Who is the second best #9 in LSU history?

I would Put him behind Delpit, Early Doucet, Devery Henderson

Henderson or Delpit would be #2 depending on whether you want to give Henderson more credit for wearing it 4 years.

Still the gap is pretty big.

I would not stop anyone from wearing it. Maybe for a couple years don’t issue it

You can hang a name and number on the stadium and not “retire” the number

If they were ever going to retire a number this would be it right? What more would a player have to do to get their number retired?

I don't think we should discuss retiring any number until
Kevin Faulk's #3 is retired. With his career at LSU and more importantly the track of success him coming here got us back on, he deserves it as much as any other person that has had his number retired before.
