With LSU's O line this season this is one of those rare occasions that you can say a freshman, barring anything horrific, will have a huge year. He's 6'0" 226 with 4.4 speed, agility, ability to catch, and has a good head on his shoulders. His film is unreal. Just go watch him go run track vs guys 60 lbs smaller than him and still almost win the races. It's unreal how freakish of an athlete he is.

And yes, he is a better athlete than Gordon.

Based on what? His high school performances? Hype? Trust me NCAA Football is a different beast completely, hell I dominated in HS but got my arse kicked in D3 football at UW-Whitewater. So you think a true freshman RB is a better athlete then then one on the Heisman watch list...really? MGIII is four years into a NCAA level strength and condition program and is on many 1st round draft boards... but you are right, Fournette is a superior athlete. Ok! Potential is just that... potential, nothing more!

It's all projections. Gordon is a great athlete and so is LF.

We are basing this off of what we have seen and what so called "experts" think of him. You can't deny the amount of attention this kid has gotten throughout his career and he's just now hitting college. I won't argue who's the better athlete just yet because it's pointless.

The fact that he's actually been talked about in heisman talks is pretty ridiculous and just goes to show how talented he is considered by national media.

Did a little digging on Gordon coming out of high school. Check out the scouting report by Barry Every.

"Most Impressive: Has an extremely versatile body type and could project as a safety or even grow into a linebacker.
Conclusion: I believe he will have to make a position change in order to become a starter for a major BCS level school."

Look, I am not saying he won't be a stud but don't you think you are all over-hyping him just a bit. UW almost always has great O-line and has had tons of great freshman backs over the past 20 years, however, most never see the field except for mop up time. Dayne was an exception not the norm.

not overhyped at all

just go watch his film...not to mention, EVERYONE on the team has talked about his being ridiculous...toughest guy to tackle and one of the best players on the field and it's not even the season yet. Usually I agree with you on players, but this kid is the real deal.

He is one of those RB's that thrives on contact and flashes an attitude when he runs that I think will be ignited by LSU. Despite being 3rd string behind two 1,400 + backs Clement still ran for over 500 yards at 8.2 ypc. I think he is going to blow onto the scene this year and LSU will be his coming out party.

Clement

so let me get this straight his highlighted runs came off of Purdue, UMass, Indiana, Northewestern, Tenn Tech, Illinois and a 20 yard scamper that he got caught by South Carolina...this is hilarious..you honestly think LSU defense is close to any of the aboves ? they are levels ahead of these defenses...i bet he gets 20 yards if he is lucky against LSU

1st round draft boards

you wont see a RB in 1st round and maybe 2nd round for years to come...well unless his name is Fournette

Injury is the only way LF gets slowed down.

Plus Les Miles and the amount he uses him. LF will be a non factor in the first few games. It is the way Miles works.

I'd like to change my prediction to 24 carries, 239 yards and 4 tds

With PJ's track record, you could throw in a couple TD passes for Fournette as well.

His athleticism? The guy is 230 lbs. and runs the 100m in 10.68. He is the second fastest player on our team, according to Miles. And LSU has a very fast team.

Yeah, Fournette outruns guys who are 30-40 lbs lighter than him. Just let that compute for a minute.

Dude he ran for nearly 150 yards against South Carolina. Keep telling yourself whatever you need to tell yourself.

Were those incredible backs over the past 20 years ever the top recruit in the nation? Were they compared to Adrian Peterson by many scouts?

Like most of you, I'm personal friends with well over a 100 Tiger fans, from all walks of life. I haven't heard a single one of them say anything disrespectful of the Badgers or their program. On the contrary they range from cautiously optimistic to downright fearful of Wisconsin. The average Tiger fan knows full well that this will be a great test for the team. A win won't make the season and a loss won't break it either. Wisconsin should be a tough outing for LSU. If it's not, then we can safely assume that Les has his boys primed for a run a year early.
