Wisconsin Badgers by the numbers

5 losses
1 of which was to 3-9 Indiana and another to 5-7 Washington State
1 loss to Ohio State by 14
1 loss to 8-5 Northwestern
1 loss to 10-3 Iowa
2 BAD losses, 1 loss that shouldn’t happen and 2 losses to decent teams. Their best win of the season was over 7-6 Rutgers.
22.8 points per game (104th), 370.8 yards per game, 206.9 passing yards per game (88th), 16 turnovers, 7th offense in the Big10, 7th defense in the Big10.
Wisconsin is a team with a first year HC, they finished 2nd in an extremely bad Big10 west, they have a strong and proud fan base that will be well represented in Tampa. I don’t expect LSU to travel well for this one. Historically LSU fans do not get up for non-NY6 bowl games or neutral site kickoff games excluding… yes you guessed it. The Lambeau Field kickoff game vs Wisconsin.
That leads me to my final point here. 2016 was two coaches ago for us but we certainly shouldn’t forget that one. It was pain. Never too late for revenge. The all time series for LSU vs Wisconsin is 3-1 LSU. We did a H&H in 71/72 then the “H&H” in 14/16.
Geaux Tigers! Beat Wisconsin!

Living in Wisconsin and having watched and read the press material about Wisconsin this should be a slam dunk. LSU should cover the point spread and the over. WISCO offense is not very good.

We should beat them by 2+ TDs. They are a bad team with a lot of opt outs.

More importantly than the regular season record and performance: What does their bowl game roster look like? Any opt outs, transfers, or missing coaches?

Well the LSU defense is not very good either. Surely the Wisconsin offense isn’t worse than the LSU defense.
Something’s gotta give here.

Washington State was not a bad loss, they were very good early in the season but went through a rough stretch due to a brutal schedule.

Hammer the OVER 55.5
LSU might score 50 on their own

BK has really been extremely lucky on his first two bowl game opponents as LSU HC.
I love easy wins but damn I really want a true test. Clemson would have been much better for a matchup and good program measuring stick game.

No Jayden no Malik. Let’s wait and see. I’d like to see the defense be forced to keep them in the game a little. Just give the guys on that side some confidence going into 2024.

Wisky has a good defense. 18.8 ppg given up against the B1G. They've only given up 30+ points once (31 to Wash St).
They have a CB that has 6 INTs and do a very good job disguising blitzes.
It will be a good challenge for Nuss and the offense and hopefully a confidence builder for the D.

Well, Nabers is going to play, albeit not the entire game.
You've got two coaches interviewing for jobs they want (Sloan and Hankton) and a QB who wants to put his name stamped on the position going into spring.
Make no mistake about it, regardless of what the defense does the plan will be to score early and often for LSU and there is enough talent even without Nabers to drop half a hundo burger

The two highest ranked offensive units they faced all year was Ohio State (36th) and Wash St (38th).
I don't think we should confuse being good and not giving up alot of points if you don't have an honest sample size.
