I was just watching some of the video from today’s practice and something caught my attention. The buildings next to the practice field (I guess these are the Nicholson Gateway Apartments) have windows on the top floors overlooking the practice field.

The fields are surrounded by solid wood fences, but it doesn’t look like they are high enough to obstruct the views from the top floors.

Does anyone know how big of a problem this is?
I would hate to have scouts from our rivals embedded on campus spying on us.

those are reserved for our biggest boosters - the same ones that got invited to the Governor's mansion.

Hopefully no rivals get to live in our personal dorms lol. That building closest to the practice facility has been housing a lot of athletes in past years.

Yea me too. I'd also hate for someone to give them tips and pointers on how to do that on an online message board.

Gerry DiNardo paused practice once because a plane was circling the field. He didn’t know that a media member was taking still shots and posting them online. Gerry asked another coach how they knew everything we planned and he told him it was in the internet- he then closed practices after that.

Years ago I used to go hang out at the railing outside my apt. at the married student apartments (rip) and watch the practices. You couldn't see a damn thing from that distance, other than that guys in helmets were running around. If you got binoculars I guess you could've gotten some info. I thought about calling football ops but I figured, to hell with it, if some guy in maroon houndstooth starts lurking around I'll worry about it then.

ETA: I was in my prime ranting days back then but I never posted about it precisely because I was worried about tipping off some other team. Now I can unburden myself of a 20+ year secret.

Anyone with any sort of view is either an LSU employee or student.

Bama would have to have Soviet-level infiltration techniques

If you’re worried about this wait until you learn about drone technology

Worked for tiger concessions in 2007... when Les had fall team practice in the stadium, we were all told in no uncertain terms that if we were caught watching, we would be fired immediately

But since we knew the stadium like the backs of our hand, we would all meat at one spot and watch anyway... boss included

Also, if you ever wondered how far you can throw a frisbee off of the uppers... the answer is farther than you think

This happened to Vince Lombardi once during Bears week. He looked up at the plane, pumped his fist into the air and started yelling and cursing at George Hallas. Speculation was that Lombardi set the whole thing up to motivate his team.
