I was just watching some of the video from today’s practice and something caught my attention. The buildings next to the practice field (I guess these are the Nicholson Gateway Apartments) have windows on the top floors overlooking the practice field.
The Nicholson Gateway apartments are across the street and the closest building to the practice field is the one with the side facing the Matherne’s parking lot. You might get a glimpse of the practice field from the top floor but I seriously doubt you have a panoramic view.
There are no apartments at all that could be described as “next” to the practice field. The only windows you see in those videos are those of football ops and the coaches’ offices.

Same thing happened at the Dallas Cowboys practice field off Forest Lane 50 years ago. There was a 2 story old style Holiday Inn located at LBJ at Abrams. The back off the motel was about 20 feet from the 8 ft metal fence around the original practice facility. Opposing NFL teams whould send spies to rent a 2nd floor backside room for 2 weeks during training camp and preseason. They moved to Valley Ranch 10 years later. Landry was not fond of the Holiday Inn.
