In an effort to be positive, I don’t think it’s that big of a stretch to think this team could win out. What’s everyone’s thought if this team pulled off a serious run to end the season?

Hear me out
None of the teams on LSU’s schedule will look exactly like they look right now. There will be injuries to every opponent and LSU will be getting key players back in time for big games.

This team is a few clutch plays from being undefeated. The defensive coaching at the end of halves need to be seriously evaluated. Both of the losses boil down to poor defense at the end of halves (14 pt swings in both games). When I take the emotion from gut punch loss out of the equation, I think a run is possible. The 2 toughest road test are behind them and I like this team at home.

You can't just assume everyone else will deal with injuries and LSU will be injury free until getting some guys back. That's a wild assumption.

I understand, but the assumption is that some key injured players LSU has lost will be back and even the loss of other players won’t sting as much as losing both #7’s. Meanwhile I haven’t seen these key injuries happen to Bama or Texas. I mean you are talking about losing the best players on both sides of the ball and both are scheduled to return.

Don't set yourself up for disappointment. We aren't winning out with Baker on the sideline.

Why not?

Every team looks beatable. Most of the rest of our schedule haven't looked good either.

Alabama will obviously be your toughest test but its at home.

Because this is a middle of the pack SEC team.

Sure, they can win out because college football can be weird like that.

But smart money says they won't.

Understood, I’m the perpetual optimist. I wouldn’t put any money on it or anything, but I haven’t lost all hope yet lol.

Bro you haven’t even gotten to the meat and potatoes of the schedule and have 2 losses. This team ain’t got a frozen dick’s chance in hell at winning out.

Turnovers, we have multiple every single game and no reason to believe they just stop cold turkey

I agree. Teams can catch fire. Win at home and on the road next week. Things can change…Miami caught fire at the right time last year. Ole Miss nearly lost to Arkansas and LSU early last year.

I think LSU can win out and make noise.

You forget that the November teams are much better than the October teams.

You are right, but LSU will be much better as well, with Tredez and Whit back. Also, these heavy portal teams are generally much improved later in the season.

They may get curb stomped, but I’m thinking of OSU a few years back. That team looked way different at the end of the year (I’m sure if you were on an OSU website they were about to fire Ryan Day).

Yeah, IF they win out all is forgotten because they would likely be national champs. BUT what makes you think that is even a possibility? If they can’t beat Kentucky, they are not winning alll 3 of Bama, Texas, and Tennessee on the road.

You can still split Texas and Bama and finish 9-3, a chance to finish 10-3 with a bowl win, and that is a massive improvement over last year and we should feel good about the future. I know some will cry "muh 40 million should equal instant playoff" but as long as there's significant improvement from last year, including some tough road wins and maybe one of those huge marquee wins at home, and LSU fans SHOULD be really excited about the next couple of years.
