Of course, the Cardinals picked Cam Johnson in the 20th round last year.
Someone may take a flier on WS late Tuesday, but that will be a hail mary.
All but a lock he makes it to campus at this point

Hunt Palmer is suspicious of this.
“I’ll just be honest here. The draft hasn’t even started. I find it hard to believe a player thought to receive $4mm+ offers has just told everyone to pack it up and move on. This entire process is built on negotiations and leverage. I’ll let it all play out.”
However, according to Derek Curriel’s Twitter and Instagram they are roommates and moved onto campus this weekend as part of the baseball move in.

Law is always a curmudgeon. Teams would have scouted him regardless lol

Zach Lee moved on campus too

most of the top 10 rds are pre-negotiated. Or teams at least know what players will sign.
It is shocking that no team will give him his number. It's not shocking that he already knows this.

Wow, this is pretty incredible. Fair play to him if (even after this announcement) he winds up getting an offer he can’t refuse, but hopefully he makes it to campus.

Well Hunt is completely wrong because he formally pulled his name from the draft according to Kiley McDaniel (mlb guy)

Wonder if he shite on Liam Peterson last year when he made it to gainseville

No way!! Put another one in the folder of examples of why you don't thumb your nose at other fans who ask "is there a chance he makes it to campus?". Yes, there is a chance, and this one is a heck of a pleasant surprise.

Who made it a rule that players had a deadline to make a decision for scouts? Oh, there isn't one?
This guy...
This guy...

His number is 4.5 from what I was told. Up to 5 to be definite.. he’s got a unique situation and probably could benefit from a transition time to the pros via college. Always been unique kid.

Keith Law can get fricked. Those poor billion dollar franchises sending scouts to see the number 1 high school team in the country.
Posted on 7/14/24 at 4:31 pm to Falco
Holy shite at that Keith Law tweet. What a fricking baby.

Not just a baby, taking a backhanded shot at the kids character.

Right. For choosing......to go to college. That shite should be celebrated. I really hate that dork.

Why does Hunt think he could leverage a better deal by pretending to remove himself from the draft (only in a manner of fashion, of course)? He gets just as much negotiating power by simply threatening to go to school, which is all this boils down to, anyway. Teams know his number, and they either want to pay it, or they don't. If the player feels like they can make a team sweat by using their commitment as leverage, they can try, but I fail to see how "removing" your name is any different than just saying "if you don't give me my number, I won't sign."

It's not like the scouting becomes useless. Just gives them more info for the future.
