You obviously never saw CJ play,.
Pins on probably looks more like the Pistol, as long as we are reaching for the absurd.

had he played at Duke or Kentucky the media would still be mentioning what he did every chance they got.

If you held a gun to my head I would say Pete is the better college ball player, but it’s not by a lot.

except was 6’6” and could handle the ball better. While CJ would be going all out, Pete would get there faster because of his length. Wade would absolutely love him because despite what people say, he would D your arse up especially if you talked shite. Look at the box score of some of the all time greats against him…

He also wasn’t “skinny”.

Fast forward to the NBA. Until he blew out his knee he was shooting 44% from the field. He played in about a full 8 seasons and did that. He was unbelievable. You just don’t know.

That night of 68 om Clyde Frazier would have been 76-78 with a 3 point line…. Grown man.

It’s sad when you have ignorant Tiger fans trying to diminish Maravich. Even a ton of all time NBA greats still have him in their top 5 list as was mentioned a year or two ago. It just shows how dumb some of the younger fans are increasingly becoming. They project narrative instead of actual skill and ability into their assessments.

NEVER. CJ was very special. The only person comparable was Pete

Did he put up 48 pts in one of his first games? If not, then no.

Dr J playing Pete 1:1
Playing one-on-one with Pete is an experience. He’s got the kind of shooting range that I’ve never seen before. He can shoot it consistently out of thirty-five feet, but if I’m going to go out there and defend that, then he’ll cross me up on the dribble and get a layup or a dunk. Pete has some great ups, and while he’s not known for getting to the rim, he throws some nice dunks down in our games, his hair flapping in the hot Georgia air. One of the things that makes Pete so great is his hang time, and no one talks about that. He can leave the floor and sort of stay up there long enough to fake one way and then pass another.” - Julius Irving

Jackson was shoot first, mostly from the perimeter, that could pass fairly well.

Somehow, I feel like you are minimizing how good CJ was.
CJ could score any way he wanted, and was a better passer than “fairly well”

Also, this can’t be understated, he HAD to be shoot first on that 1988 team. That was a scrappy bunch that would have been in trouble minus CJ. I love Blanton, Simms, and Singleton, but they would have been a losing team without his scoring

Touched a bit of a nerve huh? Maravich could no doubt shoot. And he had enough body control to shoot off balance, and had good court vision. Nobody is disputing that Maravich was dominant in his era. Nobody is disputing he is one of the best college players ever. So calm you tits, I wasn’t pissing on your hero.

Forget that 'one of the best college players ever' nonsense. I watched every home game Pete played at LSU, freshman included. I can tell you without reservation Pete is the greatest college player that has every played, and 2nd isn't close at all. He was beyond comparison, but I'll admit, you had to see it in person and you still didn't fully believe what you were watching. I was very fortunate to be at LSU with Pete.
