Pinson is a nice player, but Jackson is on the LSU BB Mt Rushmore.

He's got potential, but I haven't seen anything that looks like CJ. CJ could take it up the middle and score at will or pull up and hit a 15 ft jumper

Chris Jackson was an All American as a freshman, All American as a Soph and averaged 30ish points per game. No knock on Pinson but Chris Jackson was a special player.

XP will be good, but not even remotely in the same hemisphere as CJ. To this day CJ is the best college point guard I’ve ever seen.

I watched Chris Jackson as a kid & there will probably never be a freshman that averages 30 points a game the way the College game is played today.

Pete Maravich would be before Thornton if we are talking strictly shooting. Him and CJ are arguably the best shooters in college basketball history. With that said Thornton is not far behind.

Were you the guy who said that Efton Reid is a young Tim Duncan last week? Because this has the same feel and is as big of a miss.

Is he converting to Islam? Because that is the only that he could become like Chris Jackson.

Please don't disrespect CJ like that. CJ was generational talent shooting the rock.

Not even close, Pinson is a pass first point guard that can drive to the basket and shoot when needed. Jackson was shoot first, mostly from the perimeter, that could pass fairly well.

This is a joke, right? I saw Chris Jackson live and on TV many times. He was not just an LSU great, but one of the best college players in the history of the game! That sweet shot with such a quick release...incredible legendary talent! I don’t see anyone on the horizon that can touch him,

I wasn't here when Chris Jackson played at LSU but there's something about Pinson that reminds me of the footage from the CJ days. Smooth as silk out there

I'm really trying not to insult you or Pinson in responding. That answers your question.

I saw both Pete and CJ play at LSU. Pete would have crushed him during games and that’s no disrespect to CJ. You would have to see him double and triple teamed all game at times. There was no better ball handler and shooter at LSU than Peter Press Maravich and it isn’t a close second. Plus he did all that at 6-7” taller than CJ. CJ was not 6’ despite what may be published. He was a VERY nice young man while he was at LSU. Super respectful.

There is no equitable way of comparing players from different generations.

If CJ had played against the competition Maravich played, there is no telling how many points CJ would have scored.
Maravich was the man in his day. He changed the game.
