I don’t think they have any beef. Wade genuinely was going down memory lane with his back and forth banter with the local media. He was even happy to see Jim Gazzolo from the American Press, he covers McNeese.

What made this even worse for Cal was he had Smart on the backburner while he was trying to pull someone else. Don't remember who that was. Once he missed out on that guy he went after Smart and Wade had already wrapped him up. His ego couldn't believe he would choose LSU over UK once UK offered.

Rick Stansbury on the staff too? Boot Up!

LSU absolutely nailed it on presentation since it was in the pmac. Rolling the pep band out playing the stadium entrance, Mike in the general outfit, playing a hype video, playing I Will Wade for you and guess who is back.
Of course the General in his first official dress back has everyone fired up again

It all started after LSU beat Kentucky on a tip in at Rupp and I lost about 6 pounds of jizz

The Wade tape was just a few minutes of probably dozens, if not hundreds of hours of Dawkin's taped conversations. The FBI spoke with many coaches, including Wade, during the investigation. Ultimately, the DOJ deemed the recordings of Wade irrelevant to their case against the charged defendants. So much so that the Wade tape was deemed inadmissible at trial. That would have largely ended things there. However, the NCAA was going to get everything from the FBI after the trials concluded. The Wade tape was leaked to the media by Hawkins' defense team. Basically, Dawkins's argument was that no schools were "bribed" or "forced" to pay players as evidenced by the fact recordings and other evidence showed the coaches were all-in on the pay for play aspect. He was right.
The first anyone heard of the "strong arse offer" was in March of 2019. By the next year society shut down as we knew it. By 2021 NIL was essentially "legal". If the tapes aren't leaked to the media until, say, 2020, we may not have gotten the same result. The NCAA would have investigated, but would it have really mattered given payment to players had become "legal"?
The WHOLE investigation was marketed as something that would change college sports forever. What it ended up being was largely a waste of time because college sports changed on its own (transfers + NIL) making the investigation irrelevant.

Well, I'm ready to run through a wall for tGeneral.
Side note: The "La Queenta" comment about the Texas-shaped waffles made me blow Coke Zero out of my nose.
He's back, ya'll. Boot Up!

To this date the NCAA has not proven a single violation committed by Wade in recruiting players to LSU.

Wade said you don’t get many 2nd chances in life. LSU is the one getting the 2nd chance.

I'm ready for a lot of big wins in football and basketball. Even if we fall short of natties, things are going to be fun again!

Are you finally over your delusion and constant crying about McMahon??

Baws we are so fricking back
What a truly hilarious Presser.
One thing caught my attention. The attention to detail/self reflection. He's now mentioned twice that he rightfully had restrictions placed on him. I'm impressed that he didn't shite all over Woody and Tate and Bel Edwards and all those retards (I like Tate btw). Self reflection on offense and defense and how terrible his deffense was here his first 4 years but how awesome the offense was each year.
We have a coach who is mature as frick at self evaluation and assessing his strengths and weaknesses. I am riding like a motherfricker. The anti wade baws thought I was insufferable before, just you wait. This fricking man has the gift of waking up completely dead programs and fanbases. I am riding. We are winning a fricking natty with this man. It was the administration vs Wade his first go around and he STILL became the winning winningest LSU coach ever (win percentage). Now with the alignment and the NIL and the backdoor "payment schemes" reevaluated and corrected, watch out.
This man was willing to pay HIS OWN frickING MONEY to make our boys relevant the first go around. He bought in and he made us buy in. Watch the frick out and boot up

I will also say this as a safe space. I'm sorry basketbaws, once Wade was fired, I gave up on the program (there are thousands like me). I could not name you 5 players from the past 4 years of McMahon. I saw his opening presser and was IMMEDIATELY out. Low energy. I posted about it and got completely shite on by the usuals here.
But I am fully back from the wilderness

Coach Wade gave the audience in a master class on how to handle a press conference. It was a blend of confidence and humility - something that one does not see very often.
While I am sure he likes the pay he will receive, it seems that he is also highly motivated by a strong affection for LSU. One doesn't see that very often especially when the Coach had no prior connection with LSU when he first started coaching at LSU.
