I certainly don't want this to happen to the man, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if once he steps away from football, he passes soon after. The "absence of war" killed General Patton after all. Well, that and a car crash.

The Bear quit after LSU beat them 20-10 in their own house.

I hope so. I would love to see him in the stadium next year when the 2003 National Championship team is recognized.

This would be something. Celebrating someone we all know jumpstarted this LSU sleeping giant and being able to finally publicly respect him for his work despite him coaching our rival for the rest of his career

As long as we don't storm the field and make him and his players "afraid".

We sent the Bear to his grave about 20 years ago.

Little Dicky Nicky will be next...

A staged car crash by the powers that be.

He can retire regardless of how long his contract is.

If we lose to them I’d like to see them win it all and make him consider going out on top

Stop saying this BS

Because if you stop saying it, it won't happen. Bama probably going to try and change the pods now tp Bama, Auburn, Vandy and Mizzou.

And it sounds like we'll play Bama 2 out of 4 but the First Saturday of November without Bama will be different

Chris Dorring said on SEC show last year that the nil and transfer stuff was wearing on him. Said he heard from a reliable source he was leaving last year if he would have won NC. Take it for what’s it’s worth but may be coming sooner than later. Dorring doesn’t seem like the guy to throw out stuff like that to make himself sound in the know.

I think he wants to break the championship tie with Bear before he hangs it up.

Wouldn’t be surprising. He is over 70 now and has enough money to last him several lifetimes. At some point he will start to slip and he doesn’t seem the type to hand around if he can’t do it the way he wants to.

That would be cringey. No thanks

Absolutely agree . Bama does not look like the Bama teams of old

Don't get why people are saying this. If they make the field goal with 15 seconds left against Tenn then they're undefeated and still #1. If that game was in Tuscaloosa they win

Agree. I don't think there's any way that he could retire without that, unless it's for health reasons. He says that he likes the grind.
