Yes he was 30-31 when he came to LSU in 2001 under Saban.

His wiki says he's 53. He was 29 when hired here and 30 right before that season started.

Before Mush had the LSU DC job, saban had John Thompson for almost a month. But that changed quickly. Then Mush was promoted.

That's incorrect. John Thompson was hired initially in 2000 with Saban. Thompson told Saban "I don't have to work 10-12 hour days...I had the #5 ranked D in America at Memphis." Saban told him to fuc* sand and he left. We see how glorious Thompson's career was after that. Saban promoted Phil Elmassian as D coordinator for the 2000 season. Gary Gibbs was the D coordinator in 2001, but only stayed 1 season. It was in 2002 when Muschamp was promoted to D coordinator.
