Sounds right. I remember Gibbs took the Saints job, Mush was promoted. The Thompson and another coach were in the running, Phil was stepped up. Thanks for the reminder.

Absolutely. John Thompson was a hot name at the time, but was extraordinarily arrogant and felt he could waltz in here and field a top 5 defense while working M-F 9 to 5. Saban told him it was his way or the highway, so Thompson resigned.
