Will Max Johnson be the first LSU QB to go 4-0 vs Florida?

Only thing that stops him is if he loses the job imo.

I don't want to start a QB controversy, but I do think he will get beat out. Especially depending upon the coaching hire.

Just an opinion, please no hard feelings to any Max supporters.

He could also be great with the right coach and right development. Hard to say with. I think he showed a lot of improvement versus Florida because we finally got our run game working. Any good QB needs a good run game.

I honestly don't think I have seen a ton of progression. I think he is OK, but his accuracy doesn't seem to have improved to me when watching. Hopefully the run game continues to improve and develop so that he becomes more comfortable - I can't imagine trying to improve my game when I'm worried about getting hit every play.

He might go 5-0. Last year didn't count toward eligibility.

By who? The guy will set plenty of records before he leaves.

I’m all on board for Howard, and I thought Nussmeier showed promise in the Spring game. I like former players’ kids as they have grown up focused on being a pro their whole lives and the moment is rarely too big for them. But they haven’t shown they can do it on this level. Like Max has over and over.

As far as Brennan, I wouldn’t say a “winner” loses to Mississippi State or gets beat out by Justin McMillan. Or falls on a deck lol

Max is the BMOC and that is not changing anytime soon. The kid will be great as a QB but even greater as a teammate and leader. Look at Tom Brady, he’s a great leader and motivator. I see many of these traits in our young Mr. Johnson and the trait will alway be his strength, not his arm. It’s what’s between the ears that counts the most. Geaux fighting tigers

Walker Howard is going to learn from Johnson next year and after Johnson leaves for the draft he will battle Nuss for starting job in 2023..Howard has only played in against inferior defensive backs in the 4A Catholic ranks...still got alot of learning to do.

We are ONE win away from evening the series with Florida. I don't think we've had the upper hand on this series since the 80's. So whether it is Max or Walker or Nuss, we really need to win the next two, it is too important for all time purposes.

To think we were 5-20-3 all time vs Tennessee until we went on the 5 game winning streak against them.

With that dirty Mizzou last season we are 1-2 against them now.

So, besides Bama and Tenn, we have the upperhand on everyone else in the SEC for the most part.

Joe Burrow has broken LSU fans. Max is been put into the worst situation any QB in the last 20 years has been put into and he's doing pretty darn good.

So are we starting the true freshman over a guy that has a year and a half of playing experience with good numbers? And why?
