All good points. However, if they go 6-6, which is possible, you cannot afford not to fire him.

don't forget about OU in Norman. And Arky isn't a gimme.

We could easily lose at least 3 more games.

What will Scott say if the program pulls in at 6-6? That is possible. What did anyone see in Garrett Nussmeier?

It should be enough but for the money Kelly is owed. Can't realistically see him gone until next year if this continues.

In today’s game, you not only have to be willing to pay players, and head coaches, and assistants. You must be willing to spend money on buyouts. The best money A&M has ever spent in football was paying Jimbo to not coach.

We paid O $20 million to stop coaching two years after a national championship, and one of those years was Covid after a significant portion of his team was drafted the year before.

Nothing about this team shows LSU is trending up after four years under BK.

Kelly will come back and I expect him to be just as arrogant as ever despite being on all the hot seat lists next year. His tenure here is a flop. Four years in and he still cannot put together a complete team that is strong in a 3 phases. His teams are soft. This team is soft. Pushed around by Vandy and La Tech….. Oh but the 3-3……… What an arse…..

No, the only place his seat is getting hot is tRant. Too much money unfortunately. Maybe after another 7-5 season next year.

Nope. 8-4 will keep Kelly. Just how it is.

That is categorically false. There is money LSU donors have that they dont want you to know they have.

Losing to Arkansas would be enough if you’re wanting realistic answers instead of being facetious.

Some act like it’ll be years before we’d see him gone but we’ve lost to good teams this year. Lose to a bad team and see how fast the temp gets turned up. Like we saw with Penn St’s situation losing to an Arkansas would be the final straw and it could happen because Arkansas has played a lot of good teams close and their offense could easily outscore ours

ETA but no, losses to top 10 Bama, A&M, Oklahoma he’s sitting safe and comfortably at 7-5 at year end. Loss to Arkansas is our only hope

$51m buyout
Then buyout of staff

Then the real tricky part, new contract of new coach and staff

Oh, while also having a competitive NIL collective.

Kelly isn’t going anywhere for at least 2 years.

We have no cards.

But, Kelly is what 65? and zero time off in modern college football and he has to be thinking about his legacy, which is a successful coach. Maybe he cuts a deal?

Absent that I think he has another year.

Yep. We can’t afford to fire him but someone must be sacrificed

No

Not unless he’s “convinced“ to retire with an adjusted buyout

Will Woody sign another bad contract, that is the question.

What would the melt look like if he retains those two?

I don't want to give Bama the satisfaction. We need to wait for a shitty team loss.
