How will UF jump over us in the BCS ranking by just beating the west in the SEC championship game? Not going to happen if we win out.

I said this in 2003 (when we were probably going to play them in the SECCG also) You do not beat Florida twice in one season. They are typically a really good team and you both have to show up and hope for one bad play to win, couple that with the fact that they are normally really good at adjustments, and i wouldn't like anyone's odds. our best bet is to hope AU goes undefeated and plays int he BCSCG and we get the Sugar or a lot of teams lose (including AU in the SECCG) and we jump to the BCSCG. I for one am more then satisfied with any of the BCS games this season. and I think that AU losing 2 and us going to the SECCG against a Spurrier coached team (still make me nervous from when he was at Florida) or Florida would ruin our BCS hopes.

I couldn't disagree more. I would always rather play in the SECCG than not play. Besides, Bama beat UF twice last year.

Plus, you'd have an 11-1 LSU playing for a bid to the national championship game versus a Florida team that would love to keep the Tigers from doing this, while taking the SEC crown for themselves. High stakes football for sure.

+1

not to mention they wouldn't want us having more crystal then them again.

Well that would have worked well in '03 considering they were our only loss. What's you point with this?

It happened last year.

People also said the same thing about UGA in '03, and well yea.

I didn't say it was impossible, i was trying to say that it would be damn hard. Plus, i route for LSU not Bama, and i was making that comment more towards LSU beating them twice in one year. again not impossible, but i would rather lock up a great season and finish top 5 with a win in a BCS game personally. I know most might disagree, but i would rather not win the SEC and finish 12-1 with a sugar bowl win and ranked 2-5, rather than finish 10-3 or 11-3 and win the SEC and ranked 10-15

UGA

for whatever reason UGA never scares me, they seem to always start with a lot of hype then fall short.

All I can say is, whoever faces Florida in the SECCG will be facing a different and improved Gator team from the one we saw in midseason. It will at least be a more explosive offensive team than the one we saw earlier. I hope the Bama game has energized our guys to step it up too, especially of course, on offense. It would be huge to see two teams peaking at the end of the season and playing for all the marbles. And putting Les and Urban in the spotlight would be a media dream come true.

But first we gotta beat Ole Miss and Arky, and get some help from UGA and Bama. Plotting out the SECCG at this stage is a bit premature.

Um, UGA is 5-5 and playing at (#2) Auburn. Careful what you wish for- a loss by Auburn now might also mean significantly less value for us playing them, and end up sliding us out of contention that way.

I was just thinking about this. Watch Florida come out of nowhere and win the SEC championship game..

Not me; there are only 2 slots available to SEC teams for the big bowls. I want 1 to be LSU. I think if Auburn beats Georgia, they likely have the at-large bid (very good record, possible Heisman winner) wrapped up.

Fla winning likely puts us back in Cap 1 territory, or Cotton.

I don't think Auburn gets picked after having two losses, especially towards the end of the season (Bama and SECCG).
I don't mind pulling for Florida IF Auburn loses to Bama.

yes that is definitely irrational.

Just because they looked better in one game against Vandy, it's hard to imagine UF beating a west team in Atl. Of course I thought Arky would beat them in '06. I just hope they can hang against USCe.

A 2 loss Au team will not get a BCS bid over a 1 loss LSU. If Au looses 1 game plus the sec championship LSU will still get the 2nd BCS slot assuming they win out.... Remember LSU 2005 or Arkansas 2006? Both lost championship game and did not get a BCS bid.

If you want to play in the BCSNC Game, become a UGA fan this week. Because unless we go to and win in Atlanta, it isn't going to happen. LSU was LUCKY to get in its first two BCSNC Games. Remember rooting for Boise State to beat Hawaii in 2003? At the very least, we owe them one.

There's almost no way a perfect storm would happen again this year and LSU would leapfrog an undefeated team (BSU or TCU) without being the SEC Champ. If LSU somehow back-doors their way into the SEC Championship and beats USC or UF, then they deserve to be in the title game. Hopefully it's against Oregon. I'd like to see first hand how good they really are.

Please stop talking about UF getting to Atlanta. I won't sleep tonight. I live in FL and I am so sick of hearing about how lucky we were to win that game( they stare blankly and mouth breath when I state I think they were lucky to even be in the game!) I don't think Spurrier has it in him anymore to pull one off but I can always hope he pops the little blue pill and does! I just want to win out and not let Arky slip up on us like they usually do and ruin another Thanksgiving. If we win out, let the chips fall. The Tigers have done all they can at that point.

Let's just focus on winning out if we can, and let the rest of the teams do whatever. If by chance we get in, great. If not, great too- let's fight to get to the Sugar on the assumption Auburn is going to the big game.

Hell, we may need to go 11-1 just to make the Sugar this year. Do the math with the remaining teams. 6 BCS automatic bids- SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, Big East. Then you have TCU and Boise, who will finish undefeated and top 5. That's 8.

Mich St and Ohio St are both 1 loss teams who won't play this year, so they both might finish 11-1. Stanford also might finish 11-1, with their only loss to Oregon. So, Stanford and the extra Big 10 team make 10, and that's all the spots there are. If we also do, then I feel good about bumping one of them, but if we drop a game, I don't see a shot at knocking a 11-1 team from a major conference, or one of the unbeaten mid-level teams out.

Looks like Big East and ACC might screw someone more deserving this year...

If they played LSU I could still see Drake Nevis causing havoc on Brantley and having him rushing passes! as for the other guy the runner, DC's should know by now that when those guys come in to stack the box!

"F" Urban Meyer Weiner...I have less respect for him than just about any coach in football.

He is scum. No doubt this Newton stuff being spread was a combination of sour grapes and a sad attempt to possibly (ain't gonna happen) get him ruled ineligible should UF reach title game against AU.

He knows he can't win facing Newton!

Hopefully Spurrier will whip his arse and make him cry again...pussy!
