re: Ark -3 v Ms St lock of the year?

Posted by DJUT on 11/16/10 at 11:04 am to
Normally when a line looks too good to pass up it usually means to opposite will happen. i would think Ark would be at least 7 point favorite but then the line comes out and makes you think twice.

Could this be coincidence?

There is a rumor floating around that a certain football coach at Thibodaux high school had been payed by Auburn to try and convince some of his players to go to Auburn. The coach was fired last week for "discipline structure of football team" according to the paper. Is it possible there are things that are being uncovered by this investigation that have not been talked about? Trooper Taylor has recuited THIB HS (i think)so maybe there is a trail of money that has came out in public yet. Maybe coincidence

Would love to hear if anyone from Thib has an opinon on this?

1/36th infantry/ 3rd AD. 1986-1996.
A 2 loss Au team will not get a BCS bid over a 1 loss LSU. If Au looses 1 game plus the sec championship LSU will still get the 2nd BCS slot assuming they win out.... Remember LSU 2005 or Arkansas 2006? Both lost championship game and did not get a BCS bid.
I think the scenario where Auburn loses to Al and loses the sec championship game combined with an Oregon loss may be the only way in. I dont think the powers that be would put 2 teams from non bcs conference in the bcs nc.
Robert Neyland and Bryant shoul not have been typed. i was suprised at how mediocre Dooley's record was. I remember him being better.
People seem to forget that our NC run will be next year. we only have 9 scholarship sr on the roster so assuming we finish 10-2 this year with only returning 10 staters then the next 2 years could put us in "elite" status again...By the way, we are still in the hunt to win the west!

i think he will struggle to play qb in the NFL. he is a fool if he stays especially losing 4 OL.
channel 722 and/or 724 if you have AT&T Uverse. FYI

I dont doubt it but RR would not hold up. No doubt he is a great ath and i think he is the best wr on the team. He will be all sec next year.

Garcia got pulled for a freshman a few weeks ago with the game on the line!
Better than:

UT-yes
ALA- no (but its close)
FL-yes(see sat night)
Miss st -yes
Ark - no
Vandy- yes
Ole Miss- yes
UG - ? maybe
Aub- No
SC - even
UK- dont know enough

Closer than what you think when you put them together.

What is a "Wildcat" quarterback?

Posted by DJUT on 10/13/10 at 3:33 pm
Most people on here throw RS name and assume he is the perfect "Wildtiger" qb candidate but he does not have the body type or the running syle to be this. Is it b/c he's fast and has thrown a few passes in high school? A Wildcat qb should be patient, phyisical, and have good vision to find holes and seems and the ability to read blocks. Who is some of the best qb that we have seen run this? McFadden, Ronnie Brown, and Mark Ingram to name a few of them. Rs is the total opposite of this.

So who on the current LSU roster would fit that mold? I can think of 2 perfect fits: Ridley and Ware. Both of them are physical and patient not to mention they played qb in high school and potentially could throw a few times a year. The Wildcat is sort of a spread offense but not entirely. Shep is a slot guy and is a perfect fit for that role but he is not a Wildcat qb. IMHO of course.

Sorry for the long post, just a little bored at work!

you guys still control your own destiny. The loss to LSU hurts but it doesnt kill your chances of winning the sec east. for what its worth, i think SC played well but at no point did i believe Bama was/is invincible. UF matches up well with USCe and i would bet they still win the east.

No doubt he was a great player but I am talking about sec championships. No doubt he had one of the greatest years ever but he was still developing his leadership roles but i get your point.
Maybe but his team still lost 4 games and he arguably the best player in the history of the SEC?? He did make mistakes that year...

Florida is not in that bad of shape

I think this shows the importance of having a expeirence QB in the sec. In 2007 they broke in Tebow and lost 4 games, LSU went through it in 2008 and again in 2009 and we all know the end result. i cant think of 1 example other than GM at Bama that a first year starter leads a team to a sec championship. Florida has talent and will bounce back but it wont be this year. The bottom line is takes a battle tested qb to win in the sec.

re: LSU folks...

I would have to say I'm not a believer in the 2 quarterback system but it looks like it is working for LSU. They are finally getting some sort of identity and it seems to be a pretty smooth transition. The obivous answer is Lee b/c it is a no brainer that the playbook opens up but Jefferson is running the ball harder and making better decision on when to run the ball probably b/c he doesnt have to worry about reading the D in passing plays. One read and it its not open run. IMHO
Its funny how fast things may change. By the way, I will be shocked if lsu doesnt play their best gamme. I hope its enough to win.
