Will everyone still be bitching if our D keeps getting gashed and we still win NC?

What if we are in championship game and score 60 but our opponent scores 35?
Will the rankings put us at #2 after winning the game because of our poor defensive showing?
Will we get another asterisk like in 2003?

Obviously not. I think the concern is, what if a team (like Ohio St) that has a talented defense actually gets consistent stops on LSU? I mean Auburn did keep us below 30 at home so it isnt like it cant be done. And this defense just doesnt seem like it can compete with a competent offense at all.

Exactly. But of course all the Aranda apologists just spew 10-0, scoreboard, nothing to see here move along. If a playoff team is able to make a stop or two every quarter, do you really have the confidence this defense will be able to rise up keep an Ohio St, Clemson, or Oregon from scoring at will, especially in the second half.

No one is complaining about being 10-0. They’re complaining about the defense’s performance which poses a threat to a championship run.

You can’t say things like that because it makes you a shitty fan apparently. If the offense has an off day against a team that can score our defense won’t be able to win the game for us but they refuse to see that scenario. The only reason we beat Auburn is because they have a terrible offense. Sure, we gained 500 yards on Auburn but we couldn’t put the ball in the end zone that day. It happens. It’s inevitable that the offense won’t be lights out every single game, but when your defense is basically just air for portions of the game it can create problems if you can’t score basically every drive. They just spout off how we just want to bitch about everything but they fail to see that if we do what we did in the second half against Ole Miss and Bama against a team that can actually stop us from scoring consistently we’re fricked. Some are just pointing out that this defense could very well cost us a national championship and the other side just refuses to believe it. Even though they blew huge leads two weeks in a row.
