That play is pretty bad. He wasn't really physical at all. Campbell just chest bumps him and introduces him to the QB.

He’s an NFL swing tackle.

He gets whooped on the edge and isn’t mauling anyone in the run game.

Campbell is a clear sign LSU had a very poor strength coach.

Ehhh we had Brad Davis as OL coach. He didn’t focus on technique so Campbell still has some bad habits he needs to work hard on breaking. They’re not easy to break after doing them for so long.

It is a bad look, but really, what can he say?

Words can’t adequately describe how bad he was and I’m pretty sure he knows it.

what was he supposed to say, " I never got any coaching at LSU and I will get better, but I'm sorry for the loss"

He got coaching. The problem with Will is that he was never as good as his draft position. A top five pick should be able to handle that situation a lot better, but he was never that guy. He is still an excellent young tackle, and he will develop if he keeps at it. But if you watched the Bama game you’d see he was mauled by their NFL-ready DE, and Jayden Daniels paid the price. I posted at the time that he was not worthy of a top ten pick but should come off the board at about 15. I said that because he could not handle the top guys in college, and I hadn’t seen evidence of great run blocking (That could be on the coaching.)

But all it takes to underestimate the draft slot of a player is one team.

I’m sure Big Willy is regreting his decision to leave early! He could’ve have stayed and played for Lane Kiffin.
Wut?

he injured his MCL late in the season and was playing through it.

That explains a lot, actually. He had such a great start with the Patriots. Hopefully he gets healthy this offseason.

ETA: 29-0 against Bama comes to mind. From what was said on here, apparently Joe Burrow played that game with a separated shoulder.

I think it’s hating because we had 0 threads about him before his injury when he played pretty well and now 50 threads every game post injury saying “I knew he would be a bust”

There were threads around the time the Patriots got more national exposure. Who was watching them prior to the playoffs. Him not talking to the media didn't help the "soft" narrative.

The “soft narrative”

Like I said no one hates LSU played like LSU fans.

I get that you had probably the worst game of your carrier, but you still have to go out there, talk to the media and own up to it even though you're essentially walking into a hornet's nest. Unfortunately, that's part of the job. Hope he learns from this because I think he will still develop into a really good NFL tackle. First-year NFL starter growing pains and a really good Seahawks front will do that to a lot of players.

I couldn’t agree with this more

This could have been an opportunity to show leadership and accountability.

Get up there and tell everyone you have work to do and recognize that. It won’t change the results of the game but it will get you some grace going forward

Agreed, BUT...he got pushed around, beat, and was underpowered. Has a lot to improve in many areas. Its not like I dont like him, but im a realist. He was THAT bad last night

Sam didn't fall on his face in a Super Bowl. He was on shitty teams or whatever.

He was getting demolished all year last year too. I’ll never forget the senior all american’s knack for false starts at critical times.

Too early to label him a bust but the jury will be out on him as an NFL tackle until he proves the pre-draft doubters wrong. It’s on him.

he was absolutely a LT prior to his injury, but an MCL sprain isn’t exactly a great thing for an OT.

And guys like lester who live and die by PFF won’t go and admit the pre injury numbers are significantly better than the post injury numbers.

if they aren’t a playoff team he probably doesn’t come back at all this year

He played better before what looked like a season ending injury isn’t a crazy take unless you need to backup a “he isn’t a tackle” take.
