Will Brennan be granted a redshirt

Run it back one more year if possible. You have to feel for him not getting a fair shot. Regardless of who the rant thinks was the better if he can’t come back this year

He will most likely transfer and we will root for him from a distance. Good luck young man. Thank you

I hope he's granted a transfer...
Kid a die hard LSU guy but it's just not meant for him.
Plus too much talent coming in.

Did I miss where he is out for the season?

He already used his redshirt, so he would have to be granted a medical redshirt. Not sure how that would be handled relative to his COVID year of extra eligibility, but he has next season (2022) left, at a minimum.

If he hasn’t already had a medical redshirt year, then yes he could.

I have no clue regarding the redshirt, but this is definitely jumping the gun

It depends on if he play but this absolutely qualifies as a medical redshirt year.
So in theory he’s got:
2017- freshman head
2018- freshman redshirt year
2019- sophomore year
2020- Covid no eligibility cost year
2021- medical redshirt year
2022- junior year
2023- senior year
I don’t think this is going to be the case but it’s possible. I think more than likely this is probably the end of Myles’s career at LSU but you never know.

If he is out for the full year, he will be eligible for a medical redshirt. Which means he will still have two more years of eligibility to take with him when he inevitably transfers early next year.

Is it a long shot to just recover from the injury property and train for a showcase for a few NFL teams and hopefully get picked up as an undrafted free agent?? I think its possible in my opinion.

Barring an injury to Max, i see him sitting this season out and playing for another team next season.

Transfers to Southern Miss and wins the Hawaii Bowl

Something has to be going seriously wrong at QB for Brennan to ever take another meaningful snap at LSU.
He's out for at least half of this season is what I'm reading. Max has to seriously be mucking it up in order to bring Brennan in at that point. Receivers would be catching right handed throws after catching lefty throws much of the season. Blocking schemes would have to change. It just wouldn't make sense unless Max is not getting it done (or is out due to injury).
Next season, Max will have had two years of eligibility used and Walker Howard enters the picture...presumably not because he was offered a fair and balanced shot at starting. Neither Max nor Walker Howard (or Nuss, for that matter) will be stepping aside to make room for Brennan out of respect for his having put in his time...especially in the NIL era.
Brennan is done here. In hindsight, he'd have been better off transferring when Burrow arrived. Tough break (no pun intended) for a loyal and talented Tiger.

There is a precedent for players being granted a sixth year of eligibility when they have a season-ending injury after a redshirt year. Case Keenum tore his ACL 3 games into the season as a 5th year senior, and was granted another year. But who knows how the NCAA will handle that right now, considering that everyone already got an extra year of eligibility due to COVID. It also depends on how long he’s actually out with injury.
Myles still has two years of eligibility left (including this year) so if he were granted a medical redshirt that would potentially make him a 7th-year senior in 2023. Even if he does get a medical redshirt, there’s the question of whether he wants to stick around that long (and whether it’s beneficial to the team long-term - could hamper our ability to keep the QB pipeline full).

I can’t think of a situation where it makes sense to burn the medical redshirt.
If LSU is having a great season leading into the Bama game, why would the coaching staff change up a system that’s working?
If LSU is having a terrible season, why burn a year of eligibility for a veteran team member when they’ll be nothing to gain?

If the players coming in are as good as advertised he will probably transfer

Does he get to keep his NIL money?
