Lol LSU fans still bitch about an interception from 2009

I bitch about Miles. The dude should have EASILY won 3 National Championships. But b/c of his stubbornness he didn't.

I’d buy a true tell all about that season. I’ve lost the sour taste in my mouth about that season but I’m still very curious about player/coach relationships, player mindsets and how players true feelings about that ill fated game in New Orleans.

There is no doubt that Coach Miles did not have a good plan going into the game. The thing that still bugs me is that Oklahoma State should have been there and not Bama. The only game that OK State lost was right after a tragedy. We would have rolled the Cowboys.

He is just reminding us of what can happen. History tends to repeat if we forget.

No one can really defend the game plan for that night or the offense in general but its pretty myopic to think only Miles had any impact on that game and the other coach, who if memory serves is pretty good was just a lucky bystander.

It was the highlight of his life. Realistically speaking, he will probably never approach something so grand in his life and a coach's stubbornness and then weakness (the quitting in the fourth quarter) took it away.

3 downvotes? Wow....I really hope these people aren't suggesting they'd rather Miles.

i didn't downvote you but of course i would not rather have Miles coaching now but the idea that we lost because of his bad coaching alone is stupid and false. As much talent as we had Bama actually had 2 more players drafted and Nick Saban is a pretty good coach.

In the 2009 SECCG a 1 v 2 matchup Saban held Florida with Meyer (a great offensive coach) and Tebow (arguably the SEC QB GOAT) to 13 points.

which 3? 2011 he wins if we play anyone else, so what other years did we realistically have a NC winner? 2012? If we beat Bama, probably though UGA is no gimme. 2006? certainly talented enough but again we lost to a better coach on the road. At the end of the day Miles was a good coach not an elite one.

Will never forgive Les over that game. I blame OK state and the ncaa for allowing bama to have a mulligan also. That field goal was good against Iowa state.

For speaking his mind and voicing his frustration? Blackwell was being interviewed by Doucette. He didn’t ask for the forum. T-Bob has basically said the same things: physical practices; zero game planning; and zero adjustments. It’s just classic Miles and the reason he got canned.

Well he should have played Lee right or is this an attempt at dismissing?

Blackwell trashing his coach says a lot about the character of Blackwell. Really bad look Will. They beat y’all arse, and Lee would not have changed that.

Yep this season proved emphatically that the players were the reason our offense was so awful for over a decade and it had nothing to do with coaching. Jesus tap dancing Christ it amazes me what some of you come up with

Ensminger was right there w him. He did not look too happy. Amazing how low that moment was (and 2018 home game vs Ala.) compared to 2019 season. Truly AMAZING!

Blackwell is an overall shitty person, who somehow thinks he is a better human than Drew Brees

It was a product of Blackwell and his pals on the oline not bothering to show up. Watch the game again. Bama d line lived in the backfield all night.

Pretty easy to live in the backfield when you know what the O is going to do, the O-line is outnumbered, and no adjustments are made. It was typical and you’re not talking about a game against a team like Kansas where you can out-athlete teams.

Maybe so but can you imagine getting that close to a national championship. All of your dreams coming true and then to have what happened on 1/9 then I think that would harbor some hard feelings

Lost in the excitement of the win in Alabama was the reality that LSU was pretty lucky to win that game
a couple of other plays stick out to me. Bama picks off lee, & returns it inside the 10 if i'm right, but a holding call brings it back, they ended up missing 1 of many fg's that night. bama tried to throw a back shoulder pass in overtime i think, just of the fingertips of richardson. would have been 1st & goal inside the 5. & of course eric ried left his man to cover the tight end who would have been wide open comes over & makes a pick. & lastly bama missed either 4 or 5 field goal, make 1 of those & they win.
