You guys are sensitive. Most people who think they are the 1st choice is probably the third or forth and just do not know it. It does not matter how you get there, its what you do once you are there...

Dude everyone knows what happened and knows who we went after and didn't get. Lol what's he supposed to just obviously lie? That would be worse. He's saying deronta is a damn good coach and he was a 4th or 5ty choice himself when lsu was looking for a hc so u can't judge how good a coach is based on what position they were on the call list for the job.

If this were true, that would have made les a Kindergarten teacher.
Coach O does and says things that make me wonder but CNS playing Marcus Randell in front of Jamarcus Russel was a head-scratcher.
In the long run, coach O is putting serious talent on the team so we will be fine if he flames out.

The point of the quote is that the first choice isn't always the best choice. Basically saying the fact that Jones wasn't the first guy offered the job doesn't mean he won't do great things.

Does it? We had 3 year of build up where we improved every year culminating in 2019 and then we had a huge step back in a Covid fricked year where we lost EVERYONE.
As of now, 2020 is the one-off aberration.
Next year will give us a much better picture of which year was the outlier.
I'm in a hope for the best mind set right now. I like the hires that were made and I like the guys we have on the team. I feel like we will be back in the playoff hunt next year. I say in the hunt and not in the playoffs cuz we have to beat Bama to get there. I guess we technically could go 11-1 and sneak in but you get what I am saying.
