As long as he is fit and healthy he is a great asset as an older guy in the room.

Emery has had flashes of brilliance. If he could hardness his tremendous ability, he could be really good. Certainly has allot of improvements to make, but surely has the ability to play in the pros

he hasn't done anything of note in what seems like 12 years at LSU
This isn’t true at all.
He’s missed time due to academics and the injury last year.
But he’s shown flashes of why he was so highly recruited.
To say he’s done nothing of note shows you either don’t watch or have an agenda

If he delivers on the chances he gets, then he'll get even more chances. If he looks good in his last season against the SEC, there's gonna be a pro team that gives him a chance.
Why would Emery come back to LSU?
Let's hope the urgency drives him to play at his best. If he does that, he could be a really good back for us.

Considering the only thing keeping him off the field was a sociology textbook, he has a pretty good chance at playing time

He has done nothing of note.
He had a 20 yd run at key time against Bama, but his body of work has been unremarkable and he has had academic issues and fumble issues.
He has been a disappointment, which accounts for why such a high ranked player got so little playing time over such a long period of time.
This will be his fifth year and he has five starts and, if memory serves me correctly, he has never gained over 375 yards rushing any season.

And you can probably count those flashes, in 5 years, on one hand. Basically, his great TD run vs. Alabama in 2020. His game vs. Vanderbilt in 2020. His game at Auburn in 2022. His TD catch vs Alabama in 2022.
That's not meant to be a personal attack. It's just reality. So many still cling to that 5 star recruiting ranking and believe one day it will manifest...with ZERO evidence that will actually happen.
That said, LSU needs depth at the RB position. So Emery on the team, even coming off a serious injury, is welcomed. But to expect him to be a impact player of any note is probably foolish.

While Jackson's ceiling is high, I don't think he's done enough quite yet to lock down that feature back status.
Jackson is probably the first RB LSU has had in a while that fits in that Hill, Fournette, Guice, mold. That is a physical, powerful runner who can break a play for a long TD at any time. He should get plenty of opportunities this season with Daniels' running ability out of the equation. But I agree, he's not the feature back just yet. The reason is Josh Williams
Williams isn't a naturally gifted as Jackson. Hell, he may be the least explosive RB on the roster. But the guy does everything well, is extremely reliable, and never lacks effort. He's a coach's dream because you know exactly what you are going to get when he's on the field and he's just a winner. His OT play vs. Alabama in 2022 should be shown to every player on the roster time and time again as THE expectation. Long, emotional, physical game where LSU finds themselves behind by the largest margin all game. He was more or less the second option on the play with the optimal option being Daniels keeping the ball. Williams could have just carried out his fake and he would have done his job. Instead, he busts his arse to get down field to throw the freeing block for a TD

Emery was going to transfer but he dropped the ball.

Jackson is going to be the feature back. Williams will be the third-down back. Durham will be the change of pace back.
You don’t know any of this to be 100% fact. You just threw out cliche after cliche, acting like you know what you’re talking about

Come back, get a free year of masters degree, and make a little $$.
Try to get healthy and try the NFL/USFL afterwards.
