In order to make his own noose in order to hang himself. Easier for the admin to boot him when his wounds are 100% self-inflicted.

Do you think other major D1 coaches aren't hiring who they want? He went 15-0 of course he is going to have final say on who he hires

After the Scott Linehan hire why do you think experience matters? Joe Brady had none as a playcaller.

The DC's he wanted are with the Saints and Notre Dame.

Well it’s a lot easier to fire a guy that way

This is likely the most accurate reason. It has probably been clear to the coaching community for a long time that Orgeron is incompetent, immature and impulsive. I hope LSU can extricate itself from him with as little damage to the program as possible.

Something about enough rope to hang yourself.

They couldn't find anyone reputable willing to commit career suicide working for Orgeron

exactly. To hire a proven coordinator, that coordinator has to actually want to work under that HC. What benefit would any proven coordinator gain from working under Orgeron?

I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that we replaced coordinators with guys that had never called a single game and fired the Oline coach all in the offseason.

List all the qualified coordinators that were knocking on the door. I'll wait.

The AD doesn’t look much better.

IF the AD is trying to get the coach out, the last thing he wants is good coordinators that would also have to go with the coach.

No one else wanted to work under him because he's a laughing stock in the coaching profession. He openly stated Jones was his 4th or 5th choice. Brilliant.

And you know this for a fact? That the jobs were offered to candidates that turned him down and said I don't want to coach under or be on your staff? How do you know this?

How many candidates did we go through for DC? How did a program that set records 2 years ago have to resort to basically no bodies for the two most important coaching positions outside of head coach?

So that Woodward could start making calls week 2 instead of 9. If boosters have the money and I’d be shocked if they don’t, SW is already window shopping for a fancy new toy. You guys have the best AD in the country to hire a new hfc. Go out root for your boys and know you’ll be back in the thicket next year

I'm sure nobody at the top thought tis was a good idea, but the head coach is responsible for who works for him. They have to let him have the final say on his assistants.

I personally don't want the AD picking assistants for our head coach...it makes him look even weaker than he already is.

And how does that look for the replacement candidate?

The HC is responsible for some of what occurs under him but no he doesn't have final say so as to who is hired.

Why did we hire a career position coach that had never in his life developed a successful program or scheme?
