Continuity for next season is important since we might actually have a legit shot at making a run

It would be much better if Sloan figures out some running game concepts that will give us a pulse in the running game... and stop being so d@mn predictable on 1st and 2nd Down. Not having a respectable running game is not Championship level football. We saw that same issue this past season.

I think the staff thought the OL was going to be much better than it was.

As it is we suffer some from Nuss not being any threat to run. You have to be excellent at almost all other phases of offense to keep the opponents on their heels when the qb isn’t a threat to run. People don’t understand the stress a running qb places on the defense and how they cover assignments and space. Creativity would also be a big help.

Won't see a new OC this offseason but I'm hoping for a strong analyst hire

If Sloan isn’t going anywhere (and I don’t think he is), then he needs help. We’ve lost two guys off of the staff who were hired to OCs elsewhere. We need to replace the lead analyst, and possible some of the other offensive analysts, with guys who will bring some fresh ideas to our run game.

What I would love to see is someone added from the QC staff with the Detroit Lions. They run out of similar sets- lots of 11 and 12 personnel out of the gun and pistol with a single back. They have a passing QB who isn’t a real run threat. But look at how creative they are in the run game with motion and misdirection and also what a good job they do at getting their backs in space on passing plays.

There are plenty of similarities between Durham and Gibbs. Everything they do with the run game in Detroit would translate to this offense without having to make major changes to the rest of the scheme, and we’ve seen how well their run game can work on the biggest stage. Executed properly, it will work just as well in the SEC.

I’m not saying we have to find the run game equivalent to Joe Brady. We just need someone who can help us implement some of those concepts into our offense.

College offenses don’t translate that well to NFL. Look at chip Kelley

Dream scenario is tell Sloan to learn under Grubb for 2 years and then see what happens

It isn't even 10am and I can already say this is the dumbest thing I will read on here today. What alternate reality do you people live in?

Maybe you should dive into some stats before you post stupid shite. He had Geno fricking Smith as Smith qb. Which he actually had a pretty good year. Go back and look at his Washington days, he’s way better than Sloan.

According to the Seattle Times, Grubb was fired because of the Seahawks’ weak rushing game.

LSU is not firing Sloan. Why does this keep coming up? Do you think Nuss wants to learn a new system?

I don't think it's the right call and Sloan is effectively learning on a big job like LSU but this is BK's decision. He wants his offense ran and he needs a yes man. That's how he has always been.

They can bring someone on to help Sloan but he's still effectively going to be the OC and learning as he goes. LSU is the wrong job for that but I'm not the HC either.

Because Nuss has already passed for 4000 yards and 29 TDs without him. Not sure how much more improvement you’ll get if that’s the only reason. How’s Grubb’s running game play calling?

Way too pass happy, and way too stubborn about it. People need to believe in Sloan as this is a process. Him and Kelly will go over the rushing plans and change it up. In addition, we need better run blockers. Nuss should be at the Burrow and Daniels level of knowing how to work the pocket year two, meaning less emphasis on elite pass blockers and more need for road graders.

If the VT guy is the center and Thompson is another smasher at guard, then you can put Chester at the other guard, Davis at right tackle and Tyree at left tackle. Curne is in the rotation early at guard being big strong and athletic, while Borderlon mans backup at both tackle positions, and Echols mans backup spots at center and guard.

Yes, a few of us did actually. Not a ton with Burrow, but i believed his confidence and Joe Brady was a big tim reason.

With 2023 i was a million percent in belief of Jayden Daniels winning the heisman. I had him at 4k passing and 30+ TD passes. Adding in his typical rushing, and you get the point.

If Nuss can get the downfield passing down with all the speed we are about to have on the field, he could easily average 10 yards per pass and that means at 35 passes per game, he could blow pass his yards per game from 2024 where he threw it 40 times a game. We need thoss 5 extra attempts per game to go to RB carries.
