Why not run the offense we ran in '16 with E as interim? We lit it up

We were piling up yards and points. Why not run that?

I think we will. Honestly I believe we are playing super conservative.

FIFY. But, to be fair, our offense looked better in 16 than it did last night.

No doubt we are being conservative. It’s obvious to everyone except a few people on this board.

You mean the offense that scores a total of 10 points against the only 2 good defenses we played?

Plays are only as good as your players. We are better at QB than 16 but worse at line, receivers and running back.

I understand that, but we play several bad defenses every year, but we were literally setting a few offensive records during that stretch.

Would you rather that offense or the one you saw last night?

Pulling the wool over the eyes of fans with this shite every year is Joe Alleva's most impressive trick.

Even if this was true, how much trouble are we in when we can't complete 50% of our passes in our vanilla schemes?

I’d like an offense that doesn’t get manhanled by a team like SLU.

And in 16 E was calling Cameron’s offense that was already in place and we really don’t know weather Can would have done an equal better or worse job down that stretch.

Because that was Cam's offense and, by extension, Les' offense. Shrimp Boat HC sold a bill of goods around changing from Les' offense. He did that in year 1 with Canada, but couldn't leave it alone. So he hires his guy and claims they're going to run a Saints offense. But when the going gets tough, he reverts back to an even more simplistic offense than Cam ran. I don't know, maybe E lost Cam's playbook

I’ll call Leonard and Derrius and get them here pronto. I saw a couple of plays last night where they would have housed it.

Well having Fournette and Guice would help.

We’ve proven that we can remain amazingly conservative on offense for over a decade now. I think we got that figured out regardless of HC or OC.

Well maybe because we no longer have arguably the best running back duo in LSU history. That kinda makes a difference.

The point was to play to win because the season was going to shite.

As you saw in the second half against Miami and for 3 quarters against SELU we played not to lose instead of playing to win. In ‘16 Ensminger proved he could be original and spread the ball around but when he was threatened he reverts to a more conservative approach (e.g., Alabama va LSU ‘16). Idk about you guys but it seems like Ensminger is a timid play caller who fails to use creativity when it is most needed.

I know I’m on the outside looking in here but good lord does the coaching staff or athletic department not understand the economics or benefit to having an original/creative offense gameplan?

We are now two years into the new coach's conditioning program, practice schedule, philosophy, etc... Steady decline. Watch it...

Against some of the worst defenses in the country that year. The following teams that had a pulse on defense that year:

Bama: lost 10-0
Florida (despite having multiple players out to injuries): lost 16-10
