So that’s why we were shut out by a bad Ole Miss team?

Ole Miss is not a bad baseball team by a long shot.

I wouldn't be shocked if they end up in Omaha.

How does Biloxi have a AA team, but Shreveport doesn't? Shreveport is much bigger than Biloxi. You could easily put one adjacently North of Margaritaville in Bossier and have a downtown Shreveport view that'd be badass. There is open land right there. The only open land near downtown.

No one wants to travel to Shreveport. Coast has more to offer tourism wise.

Just move it to Pensacola and be done with it

That would move the venue further away from more schools.

I would bet they would expand the seating right away to handle the annual SEC tournament

If someone had to ask me what my least favorite part of being an LSU fan is, it’s that the SECCG is in ATL, America’s worst city, and the baseball tournament is in Hoover every year. Hoover was completely lame. I have no desire to go there at all again. ROTATE both!!! And yes I’ve been to both once.

Big 12 played its conference tournament this year at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The league just announced it was moving to Surprise, Arizona, next year.

Strange move. High temperature forecast there for Friday: 106.

It's a great facility. Plenty of hotels and restaurants. Proximity to big airport in Phoenix. Royals and Rangers have spring training there, but that's in late February-March, not the end of May.

Too bad SEC is locked in to Hoover because Globe Life Field would be a great host. Air-conditioned, no weather delays or issues. Plenty of seating. And, yes, parking.

Two things I wish the SEC would do differently: rotate the football championship game (or eliminate it completely) site and the baseball host.

Shreveport had a AA team for decades. The Captains were bought from local ownership, renamed the stupid arse Swamp Dragons, then after 2002 moved to Texas to become the Frisco RoughRiders.

MLB has since reduced the number of minor league teams, so getting one these days would be difficult. If a city has one, it better hang onto it.

Globe Life is awesome and would be ideal for the conference tourney with air conditioning, lots of parking and tailgate potential and a 2 story bar next door for LSU fans to gather and take over. But baseball was made to be played on grass not artificial turf IMO.

I'd prefer Daikin Park as it also offers protection from rain delays and a natural grass playing surface.

I think where the Hoover Met offers an advantage is the dimensions give teams an ideal preperation for what they'll encounter in Omaha and more centrally located. Either of these MLB parks would shift the advantage to the Texas schools and LSU of course.

Why are you acting like knowing someone who played AA baseball is some crazy scenario?

Because the Biloxi/Gulfport metro area has a larger population than Shreveport metro area.

Hoover has 2 big advantages that make it ideal:
1. Stadium Size
2. RV Parking

It's also centrally located relative to the SEC footprint.

Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Oxford, Starkville, Athens, Nashville, Knoxville, Columbia (SC), Baton Rouge, are all less than 6 hours from Hoover.

The SECT is probably not a big enough draw to get people to fly in. But they will make a reasonable drive.

Just play it in Omaha so all the SEC teams feel comfortable there in the World Series.

Forget about Biloxi. I've got a good source that tells me LSU is playing the pre-conference tourney in Jacksonville next year. JJ is not happy with Houston after Shriners pulled out. He's got concerns with weather in Frisco and Round Rock. Jacksonville tourney is run by same folks who ran a great tourney in Frisco this year,
