He did the commencement address at the LSUHSC graduation in New Orleans four years ago. Very inspirational speaker, and I'm confient a tiger fan at some level.

I wonder how he ended up in Alabama. I guess he got recruited by a hospital or group there, or maybe it was a woman.

ive had two friends do residency in orthopedics at UAB. reading between the lines, neither of the two look too highly at him.

Andrews did my ACL surgery too when he was still at Healthsouth in Birmingham. Nice guy and yes, he is the very best ortho out there. I met Clemens while I was rehabbing. He was in for Tommy John.

I'd be seriously questioning your friends' intellect.

Pretty sure anyone who casually follows sports knows that.

He's not a gump. His practice is in the state of Alabama, so naturally he does a lot of surgeries on AU (Bo) and UA athletes. My wife went to Troy in the mid 90's and invited Dr. Andrews to come speak to one of her classes and he did. She got to introduce him and said he was very down to earth (unlike many of the athletes that he prolongs their careers).
I do agree that we ought to throw his name out there a little more. I am proud that we are alumni of the same school. The man is a world renown success. He is sought after by guys who could afford any surgeon in the world. Geaux Dr. Andrews.

He's definitely on Bamas sidelines for their games.

everyone, slow your roll.
i think that he was even advertised as an LSU alum during a home game this year. what's with the freak-outs?
and yes, he's the team ortho for bama. do you guys expect him to fly to LSU for every game or something? he's a sports medicine guy -it's pretty standard for those in that field to work with the nearest team(s).

When he got out of residency, he went to work at the Columbus Clinic in Columbus, Alabama. There were a few well known orthos in that group. He eventually outshined them and there was friction.
An opportunity opened up in Birmingham, Alabama and he moved his practice there (geographically close enough not to damage his local practice and business development from Columbus).
