Is hard to bash the players when, quite frankly, most of them don't belong on an LSU caliber roster. Make no mistake, not only was SB better coached, they had higher quality baseball players up and down their line up.

No, you would not bash LSU players, would you.

LSU was outhit 50-15 in the series.

Why is this the coaches' fault?
This shows coaching more than anything.

I was definately coaching more than anything. Hitters 1-9 had the exact same approach when it came to batting, coincidence? Their outfielders were shaded perfectly for each hitter, excellent scouting and coaching.

Not a coincidence at all.

LSU 1-9 has basically the same approach as well... Try to pull everything, swing at first pitch always, if you haven't flied out or grounded into a DP by 1-2 count, swing for the fences.

Touche I would call that hitter instinct with no coaching

First pitch swinging usually only does their pitcher a favor.

FWIW: SB scored 4 runs total in a series at ECU,which they lost, & 1 run against a team called Bingham or something or other. They just got hot at the right time of the year, we went in the opposite direction. It happens in baseball at every level.

Many of these players were all district/state/etc they never had to adjust swings etc. the hitting coach is responsible for helping them make adjustments against better pitching of college, for them to figure it out on themselves can happen but hitting coach is there to make sure they actually develop and get better. That isn't happening at LSU right now

You don't see a lot of good pro teams that don't have either speed or power in their lineup. We did not have either. Hanover's a good kid but you can't have a guy at third with no pop in the bat. With the scholarship limits and roster limits recruiting is becoming very critical. LSU carried 17 pitchers on the roster. You better get some guys who can play at this level and you need some athletes not just kids who can play baseball. There is a difference.

All Ive seen is coach-bashing. Just curious why the hitting coach is 100% at fault here.

Because most of these guys never advanced to high school ball and had parents who blamed their shortcomings on poor coaching rather than them. You can bet the Tiger players aren't blaming anyone but themselves for their poor hitting.

Ridiculous. Simply and utterly ridiculous

Of course they are and so is the HC. Meanwhile a paid coach with the resume of a smurf gets off scot-free because he's not accountable at all.

The unpaid players are to blame. No one else. Why have fricking coaches then?
